bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	ione of my fishes died today in a tank with alot of others. n.e way only one died adn the others are healthy. i saw a white ich dot on one of my other rainbows. should i add ich meds to the tank just incase.

What are your tank parims, and why do you think they got ich? (was there a temp fluc, ect) Also, what is the stock, so we can properly lead you to the right medication

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	the tank is a 50 g and one rainbow got sick and it got to only the clown loaches. the water was just changed. there are rainbows,rams,gourmai,and loches. plants:anbuis, java moss. two filters a fuval 303 and a emperor 400.

Hooktor Fish Addict Posts: 646 Kudos: 651 Votes: 67 Registered: 22-Mar-2004	I always add stress coat at the first sign of any disease, it is a safe choice, i never had any problems with it. Also you can add melafix, which is made out of all natural ingredients so it is a safe choice. Whenever i loose a fish, i always add stress coat and a little melafix (half dose of each) just to make sure they others are alright.

I personally would suggest using Aquari-sol, my dad has used it in his tank for 15 yrs and since he starting using it (he started when he re-set the tank up) our fish have never gotton ich.
