ich is just a pain in the rear to any and all fish...it really depends on the fish as to how to handle it, and how "dangerous" it can be. But, in general your old, young, and already stressed fish will be the first to truly suffer...do you have the great white spot? heidi michelle

Well i had some young and small fish die from it but ive learned how to treat it and it seems like the larger fish just shake it off.

...they shake it off in a sense that their not immunosuppressed yet..but eventually...no matter how healthy ur fish is..it will succumb to it.

I think you will find it depends on the general health of the fish and how bad the infestation is and how quick you can get on top of it.

I would go for more precautions eg preparing your change over water one week in advance as the Ich cannot survive with out a host.

I have been doing that for 15+years now as we (my area) have a big Ich problem during the colder months.

Certainly not I let my 50Lt sit for one week. All I can say is that in my situation it is the best prevention I can do.
