My clown loaches have ick, but I read on the meds that scaleless fish should be traeted with a half dose. Are clown loaches scaleless. The meds I have are ick away by wardley, quick cure or super ick cure that has benzaldehyde green and nitrofurazone. THe first two just have malachite green. Which is better?

Clown loaches are scaless fish.

I would seriously recommend using Aquari-sol, because it is mild, and you can use a 3/4 dose with clown loaches (I have before)

I've just gone through a bout with my clown loaches having ick not to long ago.Do Not use aquari sol on scaleless fish as it contains cooper which can also be deadly to scaleless fish. Your best treatment would be to raise the temperature of the tank and treat with Rid Ick + which is safe for all scaleless fish.

aquari sol is perfectly fine for use with clown loaches.

my dad has been using it on his clowns every other week for 15 years, and they arent dead.

Has he used it as an ick cure are as a disase preventative(which by the way I do have a bottle and from what it says on the bottle seems to be it's primary use) As a disase preventative I agree small doses probably aren't going to bother clown loaches or any other scaleless fish very much. But to use it as an ick cure in which larger doses much be given and for a longer period of time (In most cases at least a week) would not be wise or even safe for clown loaches.

Well, we have never used it as an ich cure, because none of our fish ever got ich.

My friend gave me a guppy that got ich like 1 day after it was in the tank, it died, and i treated the tank with clowns, corys, plecos, and yoyos, and nothing happened to them.
