	just a little advice plz
johnsfish1984 Hobbyist Posts: 77 Kudos: 68 Votes: 4 Registered: 20-Jun-2005	hi i have 1 common plc 1 1/2", 1 tigar oscar 1 1/2" and a blue lobster 2" in my 40 gal tank (i will be upgrading soon!) and my oscar has what i think is a external bacterial disease untill i can get to my LFS 2morrow i was going to give him a salt bath! i have never done this b4 can i just add salt to the tank (i have no hospital tank) can i use normal table salt? how much do i use? thanks guys

fairynr Hobbyist Posts: 90 Kudos: 81 Votes: 4 Registered: 10-May-2005	I don' know much about salt baths....but please don't use table salt!!! It is iodine, and you need to have "kosher" salt. Go to your LFS and they should give you some.

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	the oscar will grow to large i am sure u know that. also since you can go to the lfs tomorrow get aquarium salt. i don't think that table salt will work. i wouldn't treat the tank, and a slat bath only takes a minute or two.

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	yea basically, i have never done it, but from waht i read add some salt in FW in a bucket,(usually the box of salt tell you how much to use for treatment.) add fish in net and dunk him in a few times and then back into the tank.
