my clown knife is missing an eye. or rather the black part of the eye, but the eye part is still there. n.e way the other one is still there. this shouldn't cause him n.e problems since he is an electrical fish. right?

Clown knives are not electrical fish. They don't have the best eyesight in the world, but if they are blind they probably won't survive too long in the wild.

And what do you mean by the "the black part is missing"? The black part, the pupil, is a hole in the iris so I don't understand how it could be missing.

What are your water parameters? If you don't have a testing kit, nearly all LFSs will test your water for free.

Clean water with low nitrates is vital if the fish is injured, because the more pollutants in the water, the weaker the fish's immune system is, and more likely the wound is to get infected.

What other fish are in the tank that could have caused this injury? Are there any sharp rocks or ornaments?

It would be nice to figure how the damage occured but most fish will do just fine with one eye. With one good eye I wouldn't worry to much. In some cases with other aggressive tank mates, the fish can be a easier target and this can be improved on.

Like I said before, the black part of the eye is a hole, so it cannot be missing unless the fish was born without it.

What are your water parameters and what other tankmates are there? Please answer these questions, because we cannot help you with your problem unless you help us first.
