Today my elephantfish died.
I was looking at the tank and then he came out of the cave swiming very strange and then he stopped turnd over and died
This is the 4th fish.
Iam wondering what is wrong.
And if it continues like this i think i will give up and sell my tank.

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

Could be a lot of things - I'm not sure if you posted elsewhere or not, but if you give us some more info about the other fish deaths and water params. maybe we can help prevent further loss...

Sorry about the elephant nose, by the way. I've heard they can be pretty sensitive.

And what else of the set-up? What other species are in there? And what else has died? Have you noticed any behavior problems - issues with eating, swimming, etc.?

I might think that the elephantfish died because of me putting some new rocks and caves in the tanksince the elephantfish is very sensitive!
The other fish is looking very healthy.
I have these fish in my tank:
3 mollies+17fry
3 guppies
3 zebra danios
1 hoplo catfish
1 pleco.
1 albino rts
The other fish who died last 2 months:

2 mollies
2 rainbow boesemani
1 elephantfish.

Nope..i couldn't see anything wrong with my fish..thats except the guppies and mollies, they had fin rot i belive.
The rainbows that i got..the one died the first day and the 2nd the day after. The odd thing is that i couldn't see anything wrong with the fish.Except that i belive the lfs that i got the rainbows from maybe had lower PH than my tank..
The elephantfish looked also healthy...nothing i could see that could be wrong. After 30min i had putt some rocks in my tank he just came out of the cave, swiming rather strangly turned over and died.
I will keep an eye open for the next coming days.
And i will not do anything more to my tank, that will stress the fish i belive.

You might want to check that fish store more closely before you get anymore fish from there. If your rainbows died so quickly after you got them, I'd be more suspicious of the lfs. Don't be so hard on yourself, you might have just been sold some sick fish.

The same thing happened to me. I got a string of swordtails from my lfs that all up and died on me. One got fin rot, another got ich, and one really scared me because I thought it had tuberculosis. So I decided to steer clear of the store for a while.

Not to worry...morymids are known to die for unknown causes, even in the most pristine of tank conditions. The fault may very likely not be your own.
