Hi. (I replied to the topic about buying sick fish,in the General Freshwater forum. If u want the full story please read the topic in full.)
Anyway... I was wondering if anyone knows if u can treat mouth fungus (using Melafix) and ICk (using Quick Cure) at the same time. Will it have the same effect? Thanks for the replies.

You will need to treat mouth fungus with a fungus medicine.

At this time I'm using Melafix for the mouth fungus (on my 6th day) but they have ICK also. I wanted to know if u can treat at the same time.

I wouldn't mix any medications that are not made specifically to be used in conjunction with eachother.

For example... Maracyn and Maracyn 2 are made to be used in conjunction with eachother.

Melafix and Coppersafe, for example, are not.

I would focus on one problem at a time in a triage type fashion, possibly using medications that treat more than one symptom. I can see maybe feeding fish antibiotic food and having antiseptic meds in the water, or feeding them antiparasite food and having antibiotics in the water, but I think the melafix with quick cure is too much - just my opinion.

Does anyone know how long it should take for mouth fungus to be completely removed? I've been treating my fish with MELAFIX for about 6 days now and I only have slightly noticed a change. The bottle says the areas will begin to heal or grow back after 4 days. Anyone have any input? I only wanted to treat for 7 days but if its not all the way removed I'll just use the whole bottle.
