Ich looks like grains of salt, so it's not ich.

It could be an injury, iridescent sharks are quite active, they also get way too big (over 4 feet) for your tank....minimum tank size is generally suggested @500 gallons.

FIrst welcome to fishprofiles, i hope you enjoy your stay. I hope you know that that shark will eventually outgrow your current tank. Do you have any pics of the disease. That would help out quite a bit. You said you have no ammonia and nitrites but what are your nitrAtes???

Well, he is going to die, from stunting if not sooner. They are active fish and will often crash into things in the tank. Without a picture or some further information it will be difficult to diagnose. Please have a read thru [link=this thread]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/The%20Hospital/43725.html?200407200128" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] and provide all the requested info. You may also want to take the time to try and talk to your LFS about returning the fish. You dont' have the appropriate tank (by around 450 gallons) to house one properly.

[font color="#800080"]"that irdescent shark looks ugly.

Thats because your Irridescent Shark is a Juvenile. As it matures it will lose its pretty colors. Im betting around 12-14 inches it will start to fade. That is the same Species. Sorry to shock you, but they sure do get big and ugly when they grow up.

Your stock of your fish tank is horrible. I dont want to upset you or offend you, but lets look at this stocking list.
" 3 irridescent sharks (they are like 8 inches), 1 Arrowana (6 inches), 1 red tail catfish (he is like 4 inches, 1 dotted [clown] knifefish (he is 4 inches)and 3 goldfish that were the first fish in the tank."

As shown in the Picture I posted above, Irridescent Sharks can grow to weigh as much as 250 pounds or more! They would require at least a 500 Gallon tank or larger.
Red Tail Catfish- Well youre doing no better here, these fish are amongst one of the Largest of the Catfish family, and Will quickly outgrow your tank when he surpassed 14 inches, then 20 inches, then 36 inches, and then bigger. These fish DONT belong in ANY aquarium. (caps for emphasis).
Arrowana- Well this pretty fish belongs in at least a 200 gallon tank, he will reach 12-14 inches probably within a years time from now. Way too big for your tank.
3 Goldfish!!! Well first of all, your goldfish dont belong in a tank thats 78 degrees, they are Cold Water fish - like 65Degrees is more like it, second depending on whether they are fancy goldfish, comets, or commons, they can get anywhere from 12 inches, to several feet. They belong in a 125G tank all by themselves, without any company.
Heres Bruce the Oranda for you to see:
Bruce the Oranda
The reason your fish seem unhealthy, is you have too many HUGE, MASSIVE, Immense, gargantuan Fish in a tiny tank.
You need to part with all these fish, and start shopping for some fish that will fit in your little 50 gallon tank.
You have come to the right place though, many people here are willing to help you figure out which fish will suit you best, and will fit for their whole lives in your tank.
Also- If you have been told that "fish only grow to their environment"- it is a blatant downright lie and dont believe it. Fish become stunted and die- espescially Goldfish, because their organs keep growing and their bodies dont, and they basically explode from the inside out.
Please let us help you, and your fish, to a successful happy career of fish keeping!

Hi and welcome to the site.
Over the next couple of posts you may experience anger at some people's suggestion about your current stocking. We are not trying to insult your intelligent or belittle you, but as a help and information forum this is what we offer or try to.

First, nitrate is the final product of the ammonia-nitrite-nitrate cycle
here is a link
http://www.fishprofiles.net/faq/begin-cycling.asp
If you choose to read this article you will discover the need to know the quality of your water from time to time.

Now please realise that I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but your tank will not support most of those fish. As mentioned above the sharks will shunt. Unfortuantely most LFS will sell fish that will grow way, way to large for the aquarium they are going to be housed in without asking any question to unexperienced buyers. Second the arowana will also out-grow your tank as well.
here is link for the information on the shark
http://fish.mongabay.com/species/Pangasius_hypopthalmus.html
here is a quote from that site
A 48" (122 cm) or 55 gallon (209 L) tank is only suitable for young individuals under 6" (15 cm). They grow quickly and need a large open area for swimming. Does best in substantially larger tanks (exceeding 60". Likes to have morning sunlight. The tank should be well-planted with well-rooted plants. Use a filter that provides a strong current.

Many professionals feel that this fish should not be kept in a private aquarium because of its size. This species can only be kept as a juvenile

As for the arowana here is topic that had many replies about the size they reach
http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Freshwater/50456.html?200411230157

The red-tail catfish will also approach 20" in the aquarium. here is a link
http://fish.mongabay.com/species/Phractocephalus_hemioliopterus.html

Some gold fish can obtain length of over two feet. and most knifefish if I'm correct will reach over 12''

The "pimple" to me does not sound like ich, as ich appears as salt like grains on the body of the fish.

You should purchase a nitrate test, cause the nitrate levels could be high in your tank and can lead to serious problems. At the moment in my opinion you are very overstock and for the benefit of the fish you need return some of them for sure. This includes all of the sharks,cat-fish and arowana. You should be able to get good trade in value for the arowana. The knife is tropical and the goldfish are coldwater fish that like the temp cooler than tropical fish. They should not be housed together.

I know it is hard to return fish after you grow attached to them. But my suggestion would be return the sharks, arowana, catfish and keep the knife or the goldfish, but not both of them.

Ideally, You want to do water changes to keep the nitrates below 30ppm. 60-100 is way too high. Likely cuz you have too many HUGE fish in there!

NO3 is nitrAte.

Levels between 60 and 100ppm are too high. I'd suggest partial water changes over the next few days to bring it down for the rest of the occupants. You may also want to try talking to your LFS again about returning the fish.
