i am begining to see signs of gas bubble disease, his eys clowded over night, and when i got home from school to go feed him, hi couldent see, he bumped into plants, walls, and the current seemed too much i can tell he is very hungery, he knows where the front of the tank was, and when i yurned on the light he came and bumped into the front, i opened the top and he looked up, i dropped 2 pellits in, and he searched the top with his lipss but he couldent find them i am very worried, he is so thin, his chest sticks out, and his belly almost sinks in, there is excess skin near his fins, around 1 cm of it, i am sooo sad, i think i may be watching my oscar starve to death is there anyway i can help him cope with his, hopefully short time dissability, oh, and i noticed a red streak in his eye, please help, i am thinking of ways to stop so much o2 from entering the tank, he has been soo sick lately, i am fighting as hard as i can, if he can just hold on till he gets his 90 gallon maybe the bigger space will help, i mean it cant hurt, but is there anyway i can help him eat? i know he wants to, he just cant find it

Super saturated (oxygen) water can and will cause eye problems in trops...

It sounds like your Oscar has been having problems for a long time and the effects may not be reversible.

Take some small bits of fish, frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms and feed him by hand. Place the food in your fingers right in front of his mouth and see if you can train him to eat from your hand.

As soon as possible would be nice.

So, so distressed to hear your little friend is not doing too well. Can tell from your posts that you are really fond of him.

I really hope he rallies.

Try the method of feeding Gary suggests.

Keep us posted.

i will try, i think i have some smelt i could use, i could cut it in the shape of a guppy, and thread a thin string through, that will break through the skin with pulling just a little, because i dont think i can re-train him like i had him before but i juess i could jog his memory

and i am very fond of him, i wanted him for a long time, and i finaly got him for my 10 gallon, then i told my parents he needed a bigger tank, so they let me get the 30, now my mom has been searching for a 90 for me, just for him, my dad has even taken a liking to the oscar, when ever somthing goes wrong my dad usualy tells me.
