Ok I really screwed up bad now. When I setup my hospital tank I forgot that my ph is 7 out of the tap and then slowly rises to 8.3. My ngara has died now. I added a airstone so to help my hansbaenschi. Hes not doing bad he's swimming around fine but still gulping a little. These are peacock cichlids by the way.

hmmm the area of pH shock is more serious than one would at first think i mean now i always check the pH of the tap water and ajust it to the tank pH level

I know the ph level of my tap coming out. It just isnt as big of a deal when doing water changes.
