Here is some info to read from Adelaide Aquariums in Australia. While some fuzz can indeed be a true fungus, it can also be a bacteria that looks like fungus. True fungus often attacks dead tissue, whereas bacteria that looks like fungus will attack dead, dying and injured tissue. With cloudy eyes, my money is on a bacterial infection.

Also, did you use water conditioner in the new tank and what are the parameters in this tank? If ammonia is building, it can cause cloudy eyes, among other problems.

Bacteria that looks like Fungus:

Fungus

Note that both recommend Myxazin. I don't know what is in it, but if it contains acriflavine, that is good. I would also put a container of freshwater aquarium salt (rock type) at the bottom. Put a tablespoon per gallon in the container and poke holes in the lid. It will slowly dissolve. Neither fungus nor bacteria like the salt and it will help replace electrolytes lost through the infection. This process will dissolve it very slowly over days. Make sure it is freshwater aquarium salt.

Also, I would recommend keeping the temp just below 25C in the event that it is a columnaris based infection. It will slow it down. But, don't lower temp more than 1C per day or it will stress and possibly bring on ich.

Let us know how he does.

EDIT: If you have melafix at home, I would dose that unti you can get something stronger. If it doesn't respond to the melafix, don't wait.
