It will probably get better all by itself, fins grow back fairly quickly. If you're worried about it you could add some Melafix (which is not medicine per se, but does help with healing.)

Also keep an eye on it to make sure he doesn't get finrot.

I fully second stariel. Keep a very close eye on it though as some forms of fin rot can move quite quickly.
Melafix will help in the healing process and can be added now (make sure you remove the carbon). Make sure you're really on top of water changes as that will help prevent against infection as well.
good job on stopping the agression, hope you've got a good home for him once he's recovered.

If you're really planning on keeping him I'd worry first about getting him healed before adding any other waste producers to the tank. Then I'd worry about getting him to a more permanant home...common plecos get very large .

i have a spair 55g that i think will be his "old age" home when he gets bigger but it isn't up and running yet think i will start to cycle it soon tho he is getting big so quickly i bought him at 1 1/2" about 6-8 weeks ago and after measuring him today (tape measure against the side of the tank job) he is about 4- 4 1/2" and he is such a little poop machine!

I love him tho bless
