If you're worried about it you could add some Melafix (which is not medicine per se, but does help with healing.) Also keep an eye on it to make sure he doesn't get finrot. Keep a very close eye on it though as some forms of fin rot can move quite quickly. Melafix will help in the healing process and can be added now (make sure you remove the carbon).
