I wasn't able to do a controlled study but, after treating for fin rot with stronger meds I dosed melafix for a week....also a good diet will help with the healing process. I second the covers ! bayara![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hobbyist Posts: 139 Kudos: 117 Votes: 14 Registered: 30-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | well - the fins aren't red or infected and never were, so at least that's good! and i've fixed the lid so she can't jump out so hopefully i won't have to worry about her anymore! i wouldn't think that melafix would be any benefit if the fins aren't infected, would it? i've been doing weekly 10 - 15% water changes to keep the water clean, and feeding a little bit of everything to keep some variety in her diet - guess i just have to wait it out! thanks everyone |

Somewhere I remember reading a side by side study of damage done to pond goldfish. One was treated with melafix, one without.
