well my rainbows don't have white eyes. but some of them have eyes that are like off colored. are these eyes dead of something. i only have two of them and will the other rainbows catch it.

If it is not a hard white spot, then it could be early cloudy eye. This could be caused by ammonia, possibly even nitrite, or chemicals such as ferts. Not using enough dechlorinator/chloramine remover can do it too. Check your conditioner to make sure there aren't two dosing instructions - one for chlorine and another for chloramine. Many facilities use chloramine now. First thing is to ensure ammonia and nitrite are zero and nitrates are below 20ppm and maintained that way.

If all of that is negated, then you may want to consider treatment for potential infection. Conservative route would be melafix and/or Pimafix. I prefer the latter now. Less conservative would be to dose Fungus Clear Tank Buddies. If you have scaleless tho, I don't know if they could handle full strength.

Fish can get cataracts and there is an eyefluke they can get. Neither of these will be corrected. I have white clouds in my tank with cataracts and they have had them for a year.
