Are you just asking or do you have that problem. I would say it is a digestive problem.
remedy good variety of food including frozen blood worms (A big no no to any fresh live food) and some mashed cooked green peas.

Also some regular water changes to stop anything else from building up in the tank.

White stringy poop can also mean internal parasites. But once again, is this just theoretical or or do you fish show symptoms of this?

My gt started acting weird over night, brfeathing really heavy at the bottom so i Qed him and he did a couple hours later and that was one of his symptoms when he died, he had somthing hanning out of him long and white almost milky or fuzzy white, looked more like an organ than poop. But my water is fine and the other fish are fine so i dont know.

I have heard some people trying medicated food to clear internal problems, but I usually try Jungle parasite clear....there may be an internal parasite that is causing the white poo...or a bacterial infection... Jungle parasite clear will treat both.
Good luck

I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more cowbell!
