had the water tested had a influx of new fish nitrates nitrites and amonia were high a week and a half ago did 1/2 water change had water re tested and everything was fine... water looks good just this one mollie started to act strange and is one of my original fish in this tank (55 gallon) ive also had quite a few other fish die since everything has calmed back down wondering if it is a diease or just bad luck? can anyone help or have any experience with this problem??? thanks for answering

unfortunately it is hard to tell, but fish don't usually die for no reason, so lets try to find that out then

when you say things have settled down, do you mean that your ammonia and nitrite have been 0 for at least 3 weeks now?
what are your current readings?

what fish have you lost and where did they come from (pet shop, your other tanks, a friend, wild caught, etc)


how long has this tank been set up and how did you cycle it?

everything is reading 0 no more casulties until last night the mollie had died and so did a very young angel...the tank has been going for more than 8 months now and i was given a liquid called cycle by the pet store the same one the fish came from....its a 55 gallon
