Hey...
I have been to Malta..lovely place.
I was there for 2 days only a few years back,but i want to go again..hopefully soon.

i might be going to malta on vaction this winter.

Yep ... it's a really good show, yep it is.

I am still a Junior - this year I'm not going to participate (my fish are not in a good shape since this year I concentrated more on my Ordinary Level exams).

Still last year I took the following prizes in the Junior Section:

6 Similar Fish - 3rd
Angelfish - 1st & 3rd
Crustaceans - 3rd
Fancy Goldfish - 1st + Best Junior Fish on Show
Guppies - 3rd place
Killiefish - 2nd
Mouthbrooders - 1st
Tetras - 2nd
Swordtails - 1st

Valletta is the capital city & there are quite some interesting & historic places to visit.

Most tourists stay in Sliema & Bugibba areas, so they'll be close to the sea.

I think it was valeta...not sure though..but i was a really nice place.
The food was really good.. and cheap.
If iam going there again i will send you a pm.

31st Annual Tropical Fish Show in Malta.

The Malta Aquarist Society is organising the annual tropical fish show, from the 19th to the 28th of August 2005. The show will be organised in Sliema & all those tourists that will be in Malta are welcome to come & see the show.

The Malta Aquarist Society was founded in 1970 by a group of persons that wanted to learn more on their hobby of fish keeping. From that day on 35 years has passed with the sole aim of teaching its members how to breed & maintain aquarium fishes. The club also boast a junior section with about a hundred members from the age of six to sixteen the motto being "better fish than drugs".

The club's logo is represented by the Aphanius fasciatus - a fresh water fish endemic to the Maltese island better known in Maltese as "il-buzaqq".

This year is the 31th annual show displaying over 300 aquariums with over a 1000 variety of fish ranging from guppies, the most known tropical aquarium fish, to the piranha, the carnivore flesh eating fish living in the Amazon forest. The show will be inside & the temperature will be over 30 degrece celcius. The summer is very hot here, but the fish will be fine. I will take the camera with me & hopefully i will be given permission to take some pictures.

Is it indoors or outside. I dont know what the weather is like where you live. Yeah, make sure to take many photos.

Hopefully i'll take some pictures & post them here.
This year it's a new venue & hopefully there will be more fish, as the place is bigger & better.
I'm still undecided if i'll take part or not, but for sure i'll be there to watch & learn.

Sorry, have no plans of visiting Malta either although it sounds like fun. I especially like the "Better fish than drugs" motto. I want it printed on a T-Shirt!
