It's pretty easy, I use the suit for more than one occasion. Hence the multi-purpose instead of a "suit for a wedding" or a "suit for graduation".

(I wore my multi-purpose suit which I got in Nov. for my cousin's wedding).

How the hell can you have a multi purpose suit?

Wow That does sound over the top. For my 7th grade graduation, which is equivalent, I think my dress cost around $40. Did my own hair and make-up with friends, then went to a small ceremony in the hall of our school. That was it. High school was a $200 dress, hair done at a salon, big formal at a hotel and an all-night after-party in a warehouse. My uni graduation was the dress my friend bought me for my 21st and dinner afterwards with my family, I think I got about $100 as a gift as well. Not sure what will happen at my Honours graduation in September - probably a dress I already own, maybe a visit to my favourite pub with my friends.

What's it going to be like when I have school-age kids I wonder - limousines to primary school graduations? Couture dresses?

My 8th grade graduation is in 2 days.

So far, we had a dance (I wore my multi-purpose suit which I got in Nov. for my cousin's wedding). We went to an amusement park which was pretty cool. Now, my friend is having a party at her house tomorrow. Then Saturday morning we have a shindig in the Church and after that I'm having breakfast with my relatives. My only present is that I'm gona get to see my dad for a day after my parent's seperation. Some things are more important than money and laptops.

Didn't graduate from 8th grade I guess thats what happens when you go to a school that has less than 120 students K-12.

My 8th grade graduation was nothing really. There was a little assembly in the auditorium, the principal said some stuff, and gave out awards to some kids. Most of the students weren't wearing anything "nice", just t-shirts and the like. Nothing fancy there.

bleh...to me HS graduation is even overrated....just because you graduatae HS isnt anything special anymore...least IMO...call me a snob if you wish but that's MO...
8th grade...we had a dance, my mom made my dress....and I had a sleep over @a friends house.

HS graduation.....didnt get pressents or anything...we had ice cream @home afterwards...didnt even go out for dinner...
Uni graduation, with honors I might add...I may have gotten one hundred in spending cash from aunt, uncle, grandparents combined....parents didnt give me anything, again no dinner that I can remember....and yes...I did pay for school and all my trips abroad myself .

my younger sis just graduated HS this month...she got dinner, money and a trip to Ocean city ...she's going to a private arts school in DC starting in september....she's got talent so she deservs it....but yeah....

Guess that's how the cookie crumbles....

My opinion in short is that kids are just way too spoiled these days.

8th grade graduation...hmm

Well I'd say that is over doing it for sure.

My 8th grade graduation, I got a nice, not too expensive dress, I got my hair done, I got my nails done...and maybe a present from my grandparents and my parents, but nothing THAT expensive. We took normal pics with the digital camera...nothing special.

I had a party with friends over I think, but just a backyard type deal, nothing fancy. We saved that for Sweet 16 I think.

That's crazy. :%)

My graduation:

-Ferret

EDIT: Oh yeah, beforehand my family went out to dinner at a pretty nice restaurant. >.<

That is even more than I got for my high school graduation... We paid absolutely nothing for my middle school graduation.
