Trouble is, the character has a special meaning in HTML, so if you want to render it in a webpage, you have to use a special encoding to do it. The software that takes your post has to look for special characters such as this, and re-encode them before inserting them into the final webpage. However, there are some bugs in the system to be ironed out, which is why you sometimes see part of that encoding rendered "as is". Do a Google Search on "HTML ENTITIES" and see some special encodings for a range of characters. There should be huge lists of them on any page that covers HTML syntax and reserved words. This will tell you all you need to know. ![]() ![]() |
