I use CraigsList all the time... More to buy stuff than to sell stuff. I've gotten like five used fish/snake tanks from CraigsList. Some of them are really big, and I never paid over $40 for any of them.

I use the Bay Area one, which is the original and one of the largest CraigsLists (second only to NYC I think).

I search on Craigslist for fish tanks alot, but haven't found a good deal. People in my area aren't that into fish...or maybe they just don't sell their tanks on there.

Robyn uses craigslist, and her roomate got some really nice furniature from the 'list for cheap. I haven't really perused it, but we got rid of a busted swingset using the 'list. She even sold her car on it. I guess it's cool.

Just thought I should mention this: I got my newest snake (see here) with a 50-60 gallon tank with everything in it for $100 off of CraigsList. The hatchlings alone of that subspecies generally go for about $75, and mine is just over two feet long.
