After the hoo-ha surrounding the rewiring of my house, I am back to normal. The fish have just had their water changes and gravel vacs. They've waited nine days for this, which by my standards counts as neglect (they usually get their nice shiny new water twice a week) but now that I have a rewired house, and all the facilities back on line, I've been able to give the fish their much needed clean out. And they look suitably happy as a result!

You don't realise how much you miss electricity until you have to live without it (or at least, with only the aquarium socket working) for a while. But now, the rewiring is done, and hopefully won't need any further attention now for another 50 years

Ah, happy fish frolicking in fresh clean new water. Bliss.

Glad to hear your back to normal. It's amazing how we've gotten so reliant on all of our "conveniences." Makes you wonder how our forefathers ever got by.

It is only when you dont have it, then you appreciate what we all take for granted.

Glad to have you back.

Watch this space Heidi, now that I can return to twice weekly water changes and gravel vacs, Mata Hari should be back in action pretty soon

And yes, it's only when these things suddenly disappear for a while that you realise how much you miss them. And it does make you wonder how our forefathers survived, true, but then our forefathers would probably be amazed at being able to keep reef aquaria in the home

I dunno, I'm just back from a weekend's camping. No hot water, limited drinking water from a tanker parked about 100 yards away from tent, no leccy, portaloos, freezing cold.

But I had a fantastic time and I'm sorry to be back, I really enjoyed the simplicity of it adn being able to spend all day having fun, without worrying about clothes, etc!
