YAY!!! I wasn't sure how well those Dragon pictures would come out. I had a great time... once I got over the fact that free trolleys are a pain, theres a LOT of walking, the "Go Chicago Card" was a pain in the butt, and pay phones don't work in Illinois.

Thank Kitten SO MUCH for opening her home to us and showing us around. It was great to meet her and spend time with her.

I would like to go back.... but have a little more control of time

Awww... stormy, you know you're welcome here whenever you want to come. Maybe I'll reciprocate the visit one of these days, and go see dani, jorge, and of course, the Stormy.

In any case... I just picked up my film. Signed up for a photobucket account (cause all these pics are killing my webhost ) and shall show y'all my album when I get around to scanning all... uh... 80 some pictures.

Yay... we got to see Shedd today. Spent like 4-5 hours there. Three rolls of film and 55 digipics later...

Dani and Jorge are gone ... probably halfway home by now. Well... maybe halfway. Poor things won't get home until like 2 or 3 in the morning by the time they head back to their time zone. And Jorge has to work tomorrow.

I will post more pictures shortly, but right now I'm exhausted... well, maybe one or two.

Or, how gartenzwerfe and Racso meet Kitten. They're coming to Chicagoland for a lil vacation and I get to join in the festivities.

I have about one hour... do I clean up myself or the fishtanks? The tanks, of course! *replants stem plants - silly cories! - and scrubs at the glass*

We shall go out for good Chicago style pizza and then visit my fav LFS. And then tomorrow we hit the Shedd aquarium amongst other things. *happy dance*

So... I'm in a pale pink shirt with the word "Kitten" emblazoned across the front. Too obvious? Think they'll find me? I've got kitty ears in my purse. Part of my halloween costume. *coughs* I'm debating whether that would be too much.

Just thought I'd share the fun before running off to spiff up the tanks.

Oh, the joys of public transportation. The poor things had to figure it out (heck, even *I* don't know the public transportation downtown... I take the train down there, then walk everywhere ) by themselves, cause I was working today.

Dani forgot her cell phone at home. I was like... uh... why is no one answering? And then I get a call from some local-ish number... they borrowed a phone to call me. Apparently pay phones don't appear to be in working condition downtown.

We did the pizza thing (we have over half the pizza in the fridge ) and forgot that it was hot out (103 in the sun *gag*), so we weren't as hungry as we thought we were. Then we scampered over to the LFS. Dani had to keep telling Jorge, "remember, we can't buy any FISH, it's too long a trip home!" He still made grabby hands and moon eyes at every other tank in the store. He's also declared that he wants to move here and work at my LFS.

Of course, I - who had specifically left my purse in the car - found another lonely cory. I'd eyed him at the beginning of the month, when the poor thing was leftover from a nice bunch of mellinis. I don't get why people take every cory but ONE. So you planned on six or whatever... get the extra guy so he's not lonely! ...or... just... you know... leave him for me. *sigh* I've got another cory in my motley cory crew. *goes back for that nice 300 gallon tank they saw*

We came back to my place (couldn't make it in time for the next train, so we had an hour to spare, anyway) to acclimate the newest member of the gang and to watch Jorge peer around my room and count the bettas on his fingers.

I found it funny... he looks at the 12 gallon tank that holds my three smallest betta girls and goes, "Dani, look at how big these betta girls are!" To which I reply, "Uh... those are the small ones... look in the twenty gallon." He was like, wowing over the smallest girl in the tank and then kept finding bigger girls. It was cute. I've always said my girls were big.

Just got back from the train station, where I dropped them off so they could get back to where they're camping out. I've got a date with a train tomorrow at 7:37am... we're going to the Shedd aquarium. *happy dance*

hmm, you know, it's only about an hour's drive north to milwaukee if you feel like visiting a fellow fp member
