Ever have one of those totally unproductive exhausting days and have no idea how to drag yourself out of the misery of it all?

I'm wallowing.

Anyone got any low-energy. low mindpower solutions for cheeriness?

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Turn the computer OFF and work in the garden all day. Or just go shopping even window shoping helps also take a good friend with you.

Sit outside in a park/woods for a while, weather permitting...

A very basic toy or game - for example Tetris, or I have this wind-up bunny rabbit my mom sent me and I can set it hopping and be entertained for a while

Of course, some of us like to pull pranks on other people... might not really be the "low mindpower" sort of thing you're looking for if you have to come up with a prank though...

defintiely go with switching the Computer off.

make a nice drink, phone a friend. take a walk, open a window, shred paid bills!

You could tidy up a small area? a drawer? hoover? (it is tragic what cheers me up obviously)watch the fish or play with your pets?

I am going to bed with hot cocoa - its nearly 12 here now though!

My solution involves a good stash of junk food, a really great book you've been dying to read, and a couple of kid-free hours...

Oh the luxury!!!

Sink into the couch, some mindless drivel on tv and a big bar of chocolate...have a nap. Then get up, shower and go for a walk.

Mine is similar. No kids though.

Terry Pratchett (makes me laugh, pretty good for foggy brain days except I might have to reread some things to get the jokes ), a hot mug of tea, a warm fleecie blanket, pyjamas, my heating pad, music and biccies (have to be chocolate!!!) if I have them.

I may substitute the Terry Pratchett for some kind of video game depending on my mood. Usually an RPG because they don't take a lot of coordination or brain power.

Hot bubble baths are high on the list (especially with lavendar and chamomile things in them). They're good for relaxing sore muscles and generally de-stressing. Massages are great if you can get them, if you can afford a session with a massage therapist it's REALLY worth the money. I got a treatment for my last bday with a warm water jet massage, full traditional massage and a heat wrap moisturizing body treatment. I was feeling good.

After all of those things, try and get some sleep! It's weird, sometimes it's hardest to sleep when you need it the most but it's really important.

Jeez Calla you hit the nail on the head about today thanks

For me it usually involves talking to a friend, and somebody who will listen and respond, not just grunting...i hate it if i say i'm running late for something and the person is obviously not listening and says, "Oh, that's wonderful."]:| or anything that needs a bit of sympathy and you get a reply showing they aren't listening...truly drives me into an even worse mood

Ok back to the thought now...

Pick up a good book that can make you laugh, or take you somewhere else...

Occassionally a hot bubble bath, but I like the Spearamint/Eukalyptis (no i can't spell, and no i don't care today, fix it if it bugs you).

I like music, but when i'm too irritable it won't do anything but irritate me more.

Sit and watch a nice looking tank...don't look at the one you meant to do maintenance on yesterday and didn't if you are really irritable...

Sometimes doing the maintenance and really getting into the tank is good

I used to enjoy taking the truck out on the road and seeing just how fast I could drive, it was a good stress relief.

And then there is always the sit down and :#(, :#(, :#(, and when you think you are feeling better guess what? :#( some more for good measure.

and of course SLEEP!!! which is where i'm heading to now, Thank God there is only 3.5 days left this weekI couldn't stand a full week like today

With all this said i'm gonna go home and :#( and I really give up on today hml

Tank maintenance is actually a mindless, relaxing activity I enjoy.

Snuggling with the spouse, candles lit, no lights, maybe something silly on tv. If I'm really feeling yucky I'll get a back or leg rub too

My favorite used to be getting a bag of chocolates, getting in the car, turn up the music and go for a long drive. Gas is too expensive for that now though.

I'm not going to say today was any better, because well I'm not positively sure

But instead of going home and going to bed, i ended up doing tank maintenance on everyone's tanks till past midnight, then i was able to sleep, and enjoy the tanks, though now again I need to clean the glasssomething about the python and me sometimes just doesn't get along:%) At least for now I know they are happy, though a couple of the bettas and 1 khuli were highly ticked off at me last nightkhuli really tried to swim with the current
