Bull sharks are commonly seen in shallow waters, even in rivers that are partly freshwater. If you look to the upper lefthand corner of the picture it looks like the water is a bit deeper out there - I imagine the shark came in a little too close and was grabbed by the croc. At first glance it kind of looks like the shark was just hanging out in the mud. Amazing pictures though!

A good look large photo top left you will see another Croc.

I know of one spot in Aust the Mullet come in with the tide, the wild pigs catch the mullet, then come the Sharks followed by the Crocs. Perfect place not to swim in.

SW Crocs in Aust have been seen over 200 klm off shore.

That's why bull sharks are quite frightening - they don't stay where they're told . They've been found in a huge range of waters, including freshwater, and they're quite aggressive. They've definitely been seen in the Brisbane River - not that you'd swim in there anyway. Didn't someone here post a story recently about a bull shark attacking a horse somewhere?

Still, given a choice between the shark and the croc, I think i'd take the shark - at least you're safe once you get out of the water!
