Woohoo! I got to review my evaluation today and it said "outstanding" all around! With great comments on it too! Maybe I will have my chance at employee of the year this spring!

Just thought you all might like to share in my joy as I'm usually in chat here while I'm at work (and somehow still manage to get such positive evaluations). That made my otherwise dull and overly busy day!

What kind of job is it? Where I work we don't have enough employees to nominate a new one every month...

Night access clerk in the dorm I live at. Err excuse me, residence hall. Anyway there aren't enough for one a month here either, but last year we had an employee of the year. Wasn't me. But I'm hopeful for this year.

The funny thing is, this evaluation is from the person who interviewed me for the job. And here I thought I really messed up the interview but she was desperate for employees and so hired me (which might be true too...).

We have to fill in those damned forms at IBM, they often require 50 or more pieces of information from you. Aside from being a pain in the rear to fill out when you're busy, it often gives you the feeling theyre coming up with a cunning plan to pay you less or fire you. Admin is way out of hand these days. Fire admin and we'd all have less work to do!

You heard it here first

(clears my throat) Well, considering I am Admin and have to fill out all those darn reports on employees as per the Board of Directors this side of the fence isn't that much fun either. Job descriptions change, the need for updating education for staff etc, as well as wage and salary increases are included in these torture forms. Without them you would have some excellent employees who are not as vocal as others falling through the cracks.

Lol Brightlight, fire the board of directors, and we'll all have less work to do. Have you ever noticed how smoothly things go when managers and directors go on holiday, or people (ahem) "forget" to ask them their opinion on something?
