Great point : tiny_clanger about the colors. You must be in Education?

Something else I would like to see is an option to see all the threads you are a part of. Not just the latest.

I would like to have a new post option or latest threads...whatever it should be called. I like this feature because I'm lazy and don't like clicking every single forum looking for new posts.

And I know that the color changes beside the forums when there are posts I haven't seen, but I like clicking on a button and seeing all the posts together. Great feature...

Wings, we have an active threads button..but its not all the ones you have been apart of, just the latest.

I like the blue, but like BNF said, everything is blue!

Would be nice if the "new posts in forum" fishes on the main forum page did a more obvious colour change. Silver to bronze is kind of lost against the blueness.

You must be in Education?

Only in the most roundabout way, but both my parents used to be teachers and all our family friends are teachers, so I guess it's kinda in the blood Website accessibility is a bit of a personal crusade of mine, however. I used to tutor people with severe disabilities in IT and saw how difficult non-accessible websites can be.

I like the quick links feature. I would suggest shrinking its width, as well as the features in the middle a bit so you can post a Profile of the Month on the right - if the ads can go elsewhere - say, below the profile.

You can use that Profile of the month deal for information as well. Do specials on specific fish to groups of fish, with profile information in article format with some highlights. Regions and such are great for info also.

If you have trouble setting up the latest threads feature to show the whole titles (which is a great idea), have them be able to be seen if you Hover on the link.

The links are dull and need a different font or color. The features should be in a different font than the other links.

I like that the quick links are in different shades of background, however the pastel blue on the background of the features is just a dull sterile color. Its safe to move to away from regular muted water colors. Its just about changing the colors for each box feature that makes them memorable. Use some of the favorite chat room colors that people used to try to get to spruce up the page text and backgrounds.

If you're looking for more ideas, just post back, we'll figure it out.

I do like the bubbles at the top way better than those fish that used to be there . . . but maybe you can find a different bubble pattern.

Remember Adam said cosmetic changes. Personally I miss the danios.

Yeah I tried to add a little cosmetic ideas (or really complaints) in mine. But here is more...

I miss the danios too! It would be cool if the background had fish on it like before, but changed every month or so. I bet that would be alot of work though.

I like the idea of choosing how you want it to look. That's cool.

To me the "Blue" background looks dull and uninviting. I agree blue is the correct colour as it is one of the mose peacefull and resfull colours (like aquariums)

Adam the blue I would like to see is like the tropical Barrier Reef. It is clear, bright yet not heavy and dull.

Another colour I am thinking of is the E Colour card I got when I got my digital camera. Apprently it is the standard blue used as a guide when developing. It is called Spectral Code FUN 505-050

Another thing to consider is that all the writing is clear and does not blend into the background.

At the moment the FishProfiles.com is perfectly clear and very easy to read

I have reverted the site back to the old style, but have also included the new style as a theme.

You can choose which theme you want under the site menu -> change theme. http://www.fishprofiles.com/theme.aspx

You must have cookies and javascript enabled for themes to work.

yeah, it's really nice

But it would still be great if people had the option to disable premie colours in their view, or have a high contrast theme which can be applied to the premie colours

Get rid of that bloody fish logo - you know my feelings for it when it was chosen.

its thin and weak and looks really dated now.

try going for bold strong but still keep it simple.

why not go for black and blue colour scheme with a trimmings of yellow? drop the fish all you need is a good font- the name says what the site is about you don't need the extra clutter.

--James

ps Adam - hows things mate

EH UP!!!
