You know...there's somwthing about wild animals staying wild... (atleast aquarium fish are domesticated and bred in captivity). I feel so bad for the poor things...1000 gals isn't much for them. Kinda like putting a danio in a 5g

Funny ain't it? This summer I was thinking about setting up a bamboo shark tank(if anyone remembers the failed "hell tanks". Someday, I plan on getting a 1000 gallon + shark tank.

What's even cooler (actual it's kinda sicking too) is that they sell these same sharks in LFSs. The one by my uncle was selling a 2 ft. nurse shark and many sell leopards. Black tips are a streach, but I bet some of the fancier ones can special order them for you. Bamboo and cat sharks, as well as their eggs, are readily available and quite cheep.

I don't know alot of people who keep sharks. I do know that iltat had them at one time (and I think he still might have them). There is a guy on aquatic predators (which btw has it's own shark section) who has a several thousand gallon tank with bonnetheads (a member of the hammerhead speices). Other guys fish for dogfish and have pools for them.

Wow! They're so pretty, can I put one of each in my 10 gallon??

<that was sarcasm, for anyone who didn't get it... >

But seriously, minimum 1,000 gallons?? Are they out of their minds??? Those sharks wouldn't be able to move in 1,000 gallons of water. And this is an animal without a swim bladder, it needs to keep moving, it's not like it'll just hang out in the corner of a tank. It's gotta be a couple thousand gallons, at least. Large swimming pool dimensions... if they're to be sold at all. Sharks can't get a break these days...
