So, for those of you that don't know, one of my betta's, the one I've had the longest, Happy, is actually my ex's fish. She bestowed him upon me because she wasn't taking care of him. I've had Happy for about a year. Since last December however, Happy has had a rough life. Today was a new chapter.

To give the rest of you a brief history...
Happy came into my custody on a cold winter's day. He had been living in one of those half gallon, Dual betta tanks, with the side blocked off...in half a tank of water...that hadn't been cleaned in Months. Poor guy. Happy took a 1 1/2 hr car ride home with me, however, I stopped at a hockey game and he stayed in the car. Therefore, this turned into a 4 hr frozen fiasco for him.

After getting home, he had to sit in the tank as I had a family function to attend. When I got home, I poured him into a bucket and scrubbed his tank. When putting him back in, he jumped Out of the net, and went DIRECTLY down the drain of the kitchen sink. :: shakes head :: Didn't hit the sides, didn't flop, nope...Straight Down. So, in a panick, I pulled apart the piping to the drain and got him out and back into water...covered in gross sink drain stuff. Mind you, he had been out of the water for At Least 5 whole minutes. But, after a second cleaning, he was just angry and bitter. Not a very "happy" fish at all.

So Happy began his life with me. And all was well, until a few months ago, moving some tanks around ( i had since acquired two other bettas) and Happy's tank Dropped. Broke. Half the water went everywhere and I could not find said fish. Eventually, I found him on my file case. Put him back into his old tank, his tail split...Very angry and bitter.

Today turned a new chapter for Happy. I was woken viciously at about 815 by Zoe, my 1 yr old kitten, Pulling his tank off the shelf. Water all over my papers and into my computer. Happy no where to be found, again. A good 5 Minutes passed and I Finally found him, Poured water from another tank into his, and dropped him back in it.

I've never witnessed a betta fish look soooo mad, ever. He's just angry. Very Very Angry. It'll be interesting when Julie later gets the message I left her starting with "Happy had a rough morning..."

Ahh, fish. That's okay, the chipokae monster bit Zoe yesterday cause she was trying to play with him.

An Update - Happy is now residing in a 1 gallon tank, in hopes that the cat won't knock it over also. He's still pretty mad though.

Sounds like Happy is about every BUT. Poor things had a rough life...

Dunno why your kitten got all bitten... I've never had a problem sticking my paws in the tank.

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~

As for happy being happy? sounds like he really needs another nameor needs to figure out that he belongs in the water, and not out of it
