The title says it all I need a "my chocolate chip cookies are way better than yours *IN YOUR FACE! AHAHAHH* " recipe.

Oh, and does anyone have a good snickerdoodle recipe?

Thanks!

Note:
Its okay if it has 5 sticks of butter in the recipe if it tastes better than a cookie recipe with 2 sticks

Yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah the premix dough that you buy in a roll isnt the samething.

Quick google search pulled up the one from joy of cooking.

What SORT of chocolate chip cookies are you after?

I have a kickass chocolate walnut cookie recipe, but they are crisp cookies and you MUST wait 24 hours before eating them because otherwise they are the bad type of doughy.

There is a book called GOT MILK? which has some awesome choc chip recipes in it

It's all in the chips-
Basic recipe:
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups (unsifted)
1 teaspoon baking soda
Mix together butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda and chips. Refrigerate then drop in 1 inch balls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 12 to 15 minutes. Crumble over French vanilla ice cream and enjoy.
The chips - Personally, I use butterscotch chips. Gives the cookies an uncommon flavor that has been a big hit with my family and friends for the last 25 years. If you like straight up chocolate, go with a package of milk chocolate chunks and substitute anise extract for the vanilla. For something a bit more fun, use a pack of peanut M&Ms. Another favorite is white chocolate and macadamia nuts. For a fancy touch, melt some white chocolate and drizzle it over the cookies. This also works good on Rice Krispy treats. Mmmm!

I always thought the premade chocolate chip cookie dough was good enough but snickerdoodles are another matter. A snickerdoodle recipe would be great and probably gain me another few pounds over christmas.
One year for TAG class we had to make up our own chocolate chip cookie recipes. Mine tasted awesome however I forgot the butter and the cookies spread out everywhere. We had fun though scooping them off the pan and everyone wanted some. I should have actually written it down and then added butter. For Chris though I'm just gonna be lazy and stick to the premade dough. He eats it too fast to notice. As long as it can be defined as a cookie and contains chunks of chocolate he won't notice the difference.

By far the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever had comes from the Fannie Farmer cookbook, twelfth edition, printed in 1983. If you use the peanut butter cookie recipe in the same book and add chocolate chips to that, then you'll never look any further..

No probs Babel. I'll dig it out and send you a copy. Maybe I should send you some metric measuring cups, a friend of mine that I sent recipes to couldnt get the mix quite right because of the differing cup sizes.

I hope the other admin that possibly likes banana cake likes this one.

Well winter break officially started, which leaves me at home with my friends in Hong Kong, Lake Tahoe, and other shananagin areas. Soooo, thats like 300 hours left of doing nothing but getting fat and lardy Is that a word?

Babel: I'm gonna try that recipe tomorrow or wednesday, I'll take some pics to show you what horrible I'll make it turn out . For some reason, my conscience is telling me its not fat enough.

Lindy: OOO GIMME GIMME! I tried making banana cake a few weeks ago (the breakfast type right?) and it turned out smelling like pigs feet or something

Oh.. in metric

Calla: Hehe, I'm not much of a nut/crispy cookie person . Is it extremely crispy or just the sides?

Book? Who needs books when you have the internet!

Dolf: Hey! I remember using a recipe JUST like that almost in home ec class. It turned out really good too, I should give that a try too! Wait, the one we used had shortening!

Sham: *Imagines the episode of simpsons when homer wished he had no bones*

Littlecatjoe: GIMME!!

...Troy must have already has his cookies today

Thanks Everyone!

Lindy's banana cake (not sure where I got it from)

150g butter
3/4 cup sugar (188ml)
2 eggs
3 bananas
1 1/2 cups self raising flour (375ml)
1/2 tsp bicarb soda (2.46ml)
2 tbs milk (29.58 ml)

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and mashed bananas.
Fold in dry sifted ingredients and milk
Place in greased tin and cook 35 mins @ 180C

Can be a cooked in a loaf tin or a round (I use a 21cm/8.5" round)

I make icing for it too....

2 cups icing sugar
2 tsp butter (5ml)
2 tsp lemon juice(5ml)
water to make icing a thick paste

Eat and enjoy! Its not really a breakfast loaf type cake, too fluffy imo. You could eat if for breakfast though if you like!

Oh! If your after something chocolatey, I have a chocolate pudding recipe too. Good for winter deserts.

Okay Inko, twist my rubber arm then....

Chocolate Chip Cookies(about 50)

1/4 pound (115 g, 1/2 cup) butter
1/2 cup (1 dL) dark-brown sugar
1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/8 cups (155 g) flour**
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup (1 dL) chopped nuts (optional, I don't use them )
1 cup (1/4 L, 6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips.***

- Preheat oven to 375'F (190'C) and grease cookie sheets.
- Cream butter, then gradually add the 2 sugars, beating
until light and smooth.
- Beat in the egg and the vanilla.
- Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together and add it to
the first mixture, blending well.
- Stir in the nuts and the chocolate chips.
- Drop by the teaspoonful onto cookie sheets about 1 inch
apart, and bake for 8-10 mins or until lightly browned.

** I usually double the recipe and use 2 1/2- 2 3/4 cups flour as we like a little more substantial cookie, so this measurement should be played around with until you find the amount you like. **

*** this recipe also works well with milk chocolate chocolate chips. ***

Peanut Butter Cookies (about 50)

1/4 pound (115 g, 1/2 cup) butter
1/2 cup (1 dL) peanut butter, chunk-style or smooth
1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar**
1/2 cup (1 dL) dark-brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (140 g) flour***
1/2 - 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, semisweet or milk chocolate will do )

- Preheat oven to 350'F (180'C) and grease cookie sheets.
- Cream the butter and peanut butter together.
- Beat in the two sugars, then add the egg and vanilla and
mix well.
- Mix together the salt, baking soda, and flour and add to
the first mixture, combining thoroughly.
- Arrange by teaspoonfuls on the cookie sheets, about 1
1/2 inches apart. Press each one down with a floured
spoon or fork.
- Bake about 7-8 mins or until firm.

** you can cut down on the amount of sugar here if you want to. **

*** if you add chocolate chips then up the flour amount to about 1 1/2 cups. ***

Enjoy!!!
L.

Ta Lindy

Do you use really (almost over) ripe bananas (which apparently I say "cute" ) or just regular ripe bananas?

I think I have a set of metric measuring cups, I blame Ikea for tricking me....

Looks like I've got something to keep me busy sunday .
