I'd try to save a friend who died in a motorcycle accident.

Plus I'd invest in shares and leave winning lottery numbers and also melbourne cup race winners with my relatives from the past (a la back to the future 2)

I voted for other. If I had access to a time machine, I would give it to someone else who thought they could get some use out of it. I would do absolutely nothing with it because I feel that the past things I've done (including some massive screw-ups) have made me the person I am today. I like how I am now. It's nice to think that if I fixed a certain relationship with a certain girl or if I had taken some money and used it to get lots of money, it would make my life better, but in reality, if I did that, I wouldn't be me. I'd rather be me...

And I wouldn't want to go into the future because, again, in my opinion, what happens to me and my reactions to what occurs will help make me...me...No reason to pause so I can catch up on things or fast-forward so I can prepare. Then I just wouldn't be me...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

I'd probably use all three so much I'd break the remote...

Then wonder why I bought the stinkin machine in the first place cause I remembered things in the past that I wanted to forget, my dog's still in "pause" mode, and I acidentally fast-forwarded to the part where my life ends.

Future - dont even want to know...

Pause - Being a 16 yr old who gets paid $5.50 and hour forever? haha never.

Rewind - definitly. But what if you messed up something were u were never born? But then if u were never born then u couldnt go back in the past to mess up something so u are never born. Ok my head hurts. But what if ur past self kills ur present self? :%):%):%) But all that a put aside - i'd rather take my chances in the past...

Return to the moment when I found my first true love,

Again, i'd want to give all three a try. in good old H.G. Wells style.

Rewind: I'd want to have fun mingling with Pre-Raphaelite artists.

Pause: Just to see what it does, and if it induces a 'Groundhog Day' hysteresis loop, turn it off quickly.

Fast Forward: To see if we get our act together as a species or not.

Voted for Fast Forward

I can't stand the age I'm at now. I'm too young to do anything! If I was even just a couple years older, so many more opportunities would be open to me. I don't think I'd miss that time anyway. I don't have anything to look forward to in the coming years, until I'm at least 16.

While there are things I'd like to have changed from the past, I don't know if I would really change what I've done. Anything I've done in my lifetime has been done because I am me. Going back and changing it because I didn't really like the result wouldn't be true to myself.

I'd rewind and tell my last ex to take a hike. I wouldn't be in such a bad situation if he hadn't come along. And I also wouldn't have so much to regret.

On the other hand, I wouldn't have met some of my friends, because I met them through him. *sighs*

Probably rewind. Most recently to when I was hit by a car three weeks ago, and I wouldn't cross that road! Then to some other times when I've made decisions or done things that went awry. Finally, to 20 years ago when my mum had a car accident that basically disabled her for life, or to when my partner's father was killed in a car accident, and try to stop them from happening.

At the same time I tend to subscribe to the idea of 'everything happens for a reason', so I'm not sure anything should be changed at all!

If you had access to a time machine, what would you do?

Completely random question I know.....but I was just thinking about it last night when I was laying in bed tossing and turning.

Choices are in order.....fast forward, rewind, pause, and other.

For very much the same reasons that OldTimer has said.
but to see someone not here anymore that I miss and think about almost every day of my life.

I certainly have NO wish to see what's in the future

Pause. Yes, it'd be great to go back in time and fix things that I messed up, and it'd also be nice to get a sneak peak, but really, after a while the two lose their charm. There's only so much past that I'd want to see or fix, and really, going into the future is like spoiling a good movie and would drive me insane in anticipation for the future to arrive. The past is just something we're not meant to change, and the future is not something that we're meant to see. So yeah, pause, definitely. It'd be an awesome time saver to be able to stop it. Okay, so maybe we're not meant to be able to stop time either, but pause sounds like the way I'd go. It better come with a play button too 'cuz eternally paused time is no fun either.:%)

other

I think i want to see where i will be in the future, and find the perfect time, of course i would have to keep going, and then eventually I guess I'd have to go back to that "perfect" time, so that true happiness can be acheived, and then I would pause it. The past couple of years have literally been awful, so i definately don't want to just stay here or go back only a couple of years, so lets move on and see what awaits, if it is worse than present, then heck I'll go back to high school

I would go back. Not to change anything that I've done necessarily, but to see someone not here anymore that I miss and think about almost every day of my life.
