I'd get an iRiver, cause they play OGG files.

Not particularly fussed on music, but an audiobook would be fun

the old Irivers were nice, but I dont like the new ones, the software is too clunky for my liking. When you could still drag and drop, they were nice.

I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions

I really like the Nano's. The only reason I dont have one is because I have a PSP, and am planning on getting a 2gb memory stick for it...haha, not just music but I can put up to about 8 movies on it, at good qualites

Which models had the good software Clanger? I'm looking at a 512 for Xmas and there are 2 to choose from atm, so i'd guess one is the older style. Is it the bent ones? I was after them primarily for the OGG compatibility and because they'd take a bit more punishment than the larger storage devices (I intend to use it on horseback, so its gotta be shockproof) but if there is a reason that they are to be avoided, I'd love to know before I start pestering people for one How clunky is the software?

BTW, spotted an iRiver 512 today for $145 at Smith Electronics (I'm a catalogue junkie, what can I say?), so not that pricey compared to the shuffle, Dude The Zen Neeon 6GB also falls under $300
