Im going to be using a 20g long that I used as a hospital tank in for my future ball python. The only medicine I ever used was metronidazole. Would it be safe. Im going to clean it out real good using some tank cleaner, vinegars, and a bleach solution. Also can anybody think of any good ways to get out hardwater stains on tanks.

Try some CLR, but make sure you wash the tank out extremely well because that stuff is really toxic.

Vinegar works well for hard water stains too.

Hmmm...vinegar and salt, and or baking powder (arm and hammer) might work well....all three tank safe and the salt or baking powder will give you an abrasive to work with.

don't forget a sponge, or gentle scrubbing rag...I'm thinking of the green ones that are a bit rough, but not rough enough to scratch the glass...be sure to get one that doesn't have any detergent in/on it, cleaning/dish department, oh and lots and lots are elbow grease:%)been there, done that (and mine was on a 20 long as well)heidi

I think I'm correct in saying that Metronidazole is quite regularly used as a de-wormer on reptiles, so should be ok.
I think it also oxygenates very quickly so probably no trace anyway.
