Actually, the movie that is acclaimed as the All Time King Of Low budget Turkeys™ is the infamous Plan 9 From Outer Space directed by Edward D. Wood. This film has to be seen to be believed. Look out for the Buick hubcap flying saucers and the MASSIVE continuity breaks that ensue from the fact that Bela Lugosi, the main star, died during filming and was replaced by someone who looked NOTHING like him ... Bela Lugosi was 6ft 4ins tall, and his replacement was a midget

[but number 3 really does confuse me, where does it go from Michael Myers to some compnay that makes masks Very odd

well, apparently the writers/directors had a huge brain lapse and decided they didn't want to be just another horror series like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street so they wanted to change course away from Michael Myers and go a different route with the series. It was an incredibly stupid plan and they obviously learned very quickly since they brought Michael back for part 4. The movie "Season of the Witch" might have been ok had they not put the Halloween name on it. I own every other Halloween movie including part 6 "The director's cut" but if anyone ever bought me part 3 I'd probably burn it.

and Grim, as for Shallow Ground, I tell you what, watch Carnivore and you'll have a whole new appreciation for Shallow Ground. Actually, don't watch Carnivore (if you do by my suggestion, you'll probably find yourself having an irresistable desire to hunt me and beat me down and rightfully so) just trust me....Shallow Ground wasn't all that bad....except for the last scene.

Yeah, Jason_R_S when that dark thing ripped the kids heart out thats when i flipped my table and walked away in confused frustration. I mean, if I got the movie at all it might have been almost ok, but, wow. I agree, Saw 1 and 2 are excellent, if anyone is looking for a good low budget film, see Saw, not Shallow Ground.

both Saw and Saw 2 are probably among my favorite "scary" movies. My favorite "horror" series from the cheesy horror era was the Halloween series (excluding part 3 of course which doesn't exist so far as I am concerned anyway)

Jason, my friend, you are a ledgend! I totally believe you in veery single way! Saw and Saw 2 are both brilliant films and I love Halloween, my favourite horror films of all time but number 3 really does confuse me, where does it go from Michael Myers to some compnay that makes masks Very odd

Oh, and Dude ... if you think she's hot, make sure all your jabs are in order before you pursue that idea..Good one Calli!

There are only a few movies (besides the ones on the SciFi channel which I wish I could but won't subject myself to).

The Aviator ~ watched it on a date and really wish I had my 3 hours back.

The Blair Witch Project ~ not on a date but see above.

A version of "War of the Worlds" that my bf bought me (not the 1/2 way decent one that has Tom Cruise in it) and I watched because he got it for me.

I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.

... Paris Hilton. I have no idea why she is even famous ...

Simple answer. Daddy's loot and a Ph.D in bare faced cheek. A combination that has got her a lot farther than her intrinsic worth.

Oh, and Dude ... if you think she's hot, make sure all your jabs are in order before you pursue that idea

"What's worse than being trapped in the dark with giant, man-eating bugs?"

Probably the movie. (Sci-fi is making this into a movie called "Caved In: Prehistoric Terrors" I think I saw the ad a million times during the course of the Twilight Zone marathon)

My thoughts on Shallow Ground.....

actually, it wasn't really all that bad though the very last scene didn't make any sense at all. I followed most of the rest of the movie though. now, when I say it wasn't really that bad, that's considering I have seen Carnivore which so far is the very worst movie I've ever seen.

ps. I really liked House of Wax and both Saw and Saw 2 are probably among my favorite "scary" movies. My favorite "horror" series from the cheesy horror era was the Halloween series (excluding part 3 of course which doesn't exist so far as I am concerned anyway)

I actually had that movie "Dark Harvest" in my hand at the video store, but after looking at it I thought it would just be like a cheap imatation of Jeeper's Creepers, so I decided to get Wrong Turn, which turned out to actually be a pretty good movie.

I watched this movie recently on HBO for lack of quality television. It was called "Dark Harvest" and was a horror movie about a psycho murdering people and using them as scare crows in his field. Years later, his son comes to the land, and the scare crows come alive and try to kill him and his friends.

You wont believe this, but the scare crows had little bulbs for eyes that shone when they looked at you

Hey everyone,

I just watched the absolute, WORST movie I have even seen in my entire life. I'm writing this because I just wanted to let you all know to not waste 2 hours of your life watching it.

The movie is called Shallow Ground, and it is suppose to be a horror film. I knew it was low budget, but I thought, "hey, Saw was a low budget film, and that is like my favorite movie of all time!" so I decided to give it a shot.

When the movie started, I thought it was alright, and I'd give it a shot. But then near the middle and end, everything is so up in the air, I was confused out of my mind. The ending completely baffles you, especially the last scene, which has nothing at all to do with the plot line.

I was totally confused the whole movie, the acting was absolutely horrible, the main character had a fake Scottish accent which made him barely comprehendable, and, wow, it was just plain horrible.

For those of you who have not seen it, DONT. For those of you who have had the displeasure of having seen it, can you please explain to me what the heck was going on, and what that last scene was all about?

Cannibal! The Musical is the king of all low-budget movies. It's so low-budget, I bet 99% of the people here haven't even heard of it.

I think the stupidest movie I ever saw was the House of Wax, and the worst, most over rated actress of all times Paris Hilton. I have no idea why she is even famous *rolls eyes*

A movie I wish I had seen in the theatres - Crash. My other favourites include Bridget Jones' diary, parts one and two, Love Actually, Kingdom of Heaven, I absolutely loved Troy Ok, so I was only drooling over Brad Pitt's legs, but excuse me, so was the guy sitting next to my husband.

I can't take no more of those Zombie movies. They are a bad joke in the name of horror. I liked Skeleton Key, was patchy in parts, but was at least different.

One thing you can guarantee ... let Hollywood mudsuckers and money men get hold of a film idea, and it's ruined before the first frame is shot.

Once upon a time, film makers actually strove to entertain the audience. They made films that appealed to the intellect, and in the case of films based upon much loved books, strove assiduously to keep faith with the readership. They actually made an effort to create something that an intelligent adult would want to watch and would enjoy, emerging from the cinema having taken part in an uplifting or enlightening experience.

Now, it's all about the bottom line. It's about bums on seats. Never mind that those bums on seats are attached to functioning brains that leave the cinema wondering why they'd bothered.

To make matters even worse, Hollywood has recently engaged in the exercise of finding old favourites from our past, and shooting "new, improved" versions that are anything but. For example, I saw a movie poster while shopping a couple of days ago for a remake of The Producers (the Mel Brooks satire featuring the hit song Springtime for Hitler ) and I groaned inwardly without having seen a microsecond of advertising clip footage. Why? Because I know in advance that it won't be a patch on the original. The original was hilarious, but then Mel Brooks engaged his brain cells when creating the original. There is no way on earth that Matthew Broderick or any of the cast of the new version could hope to match the brilliance of Gene Wilder and the gang in the original.

How many films has Hollywood produced recently that are basically remakes of old films? Hmm. Looks like a severe case of 'running out of ideas'.

Trouble is, a new generation will see these remakes, and wonder what the fuss was all about with the originals.

P.J. O'Rourke hit the nail in the head in the book Holidays in Hell when he wrote a piece about covering the America's Cup. And this was back in the late 80s, for crying out loud ... who knows what he'd write now. Anyway, this is what he wrote:

I'm sure there are two dozen Hollywood mudsuckers slithering around LA this moment pitching twelve-metre movie ideas. "Like Karate Kid", they're saying, "but with boats".

Still, I suppose we should be grateful they didn't choose the remake of Narnia to relaunch Britney Spears as an "actress". Message to Hollywood: if you're ever thinking of doing that, cast her in Pinocchio. As the puppet during its wooden days. She'll be fine at that. Anything more demanding, forget it.

This has been me in cynic mode. Enjoy ...

Went to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe yesterday - that was RUBBISH and a complete TRAVESTY of the book. Can't believe that for most people, that'll be their only experience of Narnia

I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions
