Oh it's good. Graduated high school, I'll soon be out of this house and into UD. Just relaxing this summer and doing basically nothing.

It was actually just a hypothetical story. He had to write a persuasive story for his literature class, so he decided to test it all out on us. If we responded with advice, then it must have been believable enough for class. As soon as he was sure of that though, he had to remove it so his teacher didn't get mad and accuse him of plagiarism...

You could tell her how you feel, honestly, that you like her, and you notice she sure seems to like you, and well if there is still that BF in the picture, why?
Instead of just asking "is there the bf" ask "why is there the boyfriend".
Being a woman myself, and knowing how women are very very capable of answering certain questions and not volunteering information because "it wasnt asked". You should seriously consider what question you want to ask?

Or you could tell her she seems to be leading you on, and if she wants to continue doing so, you are not cool with that. You can be friends and she can have a BF, or you can be her boyfriend, but you cannot be friends with benefits.
(by the way, friends with benefits may sound like a cool thing, but it always, always ends in someone getting very very hurt, and someone else getting exactly what they want at your expense).

Not to go against the girls, but it's really a matter of how badly you want to know...

Understand that asking may result in making her upset and cause things to cool off again...

Understand that not asking will probably result in things continuing exactly as they are, not any further...

It's all just a matter of how much it eats at you that you HAVE to know. If you're content with what it's like right now, then you can continue to have it that way. If it constantly kills you that you have to know or want it to go further, then ask. You're the only one that knows whether you can live without knowing...

Seriously ask if she is still with her bf...this sounds like my life...I likes a chick and she liked me and somewhere popped out his bf and yea...sorta didnt work out. If she broke up with him...then go for it! Do your best. But, if she is still with her bf, then be careful...no guy likes his gf to be hanging around another guy...through experience. Have a good talk to her and see what she says. Be positive and dont be scared. If things dont work out, just to let you know that there is still plenty of fishies in the deep blue sea.

JQW, it sounds to me like she is leading you on a bit, like she wants to keep you hanging around while she is with her boyfriend - either because she genuinely likes you and doesn't want to definitively let you go, or because she likes knowing that you are attached to her, or even a bit of both - I suspect the last one, but of course not knowing her in person it's impossible to say. But unless she makes a definite break from her boyfriend and decides to go out with you, you'll never know unless you talk to her. It's hard I know because it feels like you'll upset the balance and friendship - but honestly, it's not going to be much of a friendship if you're so confused all the time.

Okay, I hate to pull an old person thing here but I remember those days of confusion myself (it wasn't that long ago, I'm not actually old at 22!) and it's so part and parcel of being a teenager - but I also remember how much time was wasted in speculation when an honest conversation would have made it all clear. Approach her about it, try not to make her feel pressured or anything but let her know that you need to know for sure how she feels about you and where she sees your friendship going. If she says that she's staying with her boyfriend, accept it - you're then going to have to be the one that's strong enough to take a step back, because it's not fair on either of you that you do these things - hugging and dancing etc. if she's in a relationship with someone else. Maybe then she'll have a clearer idea as well of what she really wants - and if she eventually does break up with her boyfriend, you can maybe get back to the hugging and dancing and see where it all goes .
