Cool That looks hard to do and keep tight like that so it doesn't fall off... or else you used glue or something...

How nice I used to do stuffes like thatbut have since lost all my mind:%)so what size of beads did you use? 10s or 11s? It's a great beginning, I know the first few things were always the most exciting to make, and even after that they were great fun and exciting to see when finished

Heidi

ps amusing we have to make a needle case to keep our beading needles in isn't it

Definately tight enough by itself on the lid, but the body has a tiny spot of PVA.

They are size 11s, my first try at using something other than 9s and delicas, and i'm rather impressed! I did have the break out the super-fine needles, but i think it was worth it

Next, a pattern that doesn't look like i ripped it out of an 1800's pattern book I'm thinking fishies

Start with the easiest one possible Lindy
I love it Calla and I could use one of those things too *never seen one*, do your needles get corroded or rusty after time in one of those? Or am I just using the bad needles coz that peeves me no end when I go to use my favourite needles and their ruined, and they are kept in a hand made felt needle holder

I haven't had them go rusty yet, but I do tend to use them every day, so I don't know if i give them a chance.

Maybe its the humidity up your way?

I bought the wooden cases from a X stitch place, but Big W sells them now too i think, maybe give them a try?

Thanks Calla, we have a Big W nearby so I will try them.
Mine wont end up near as flash as yours though
The humidity thing might be a major factor on why they don't last. If I can get one of those then maybe I could put a couple of grains of rice in there to help.
