In response to our member suggestions, FishProfiles.com now has 3 selectable themes/skins with more to come.

You can choose which theme you want under the site menu -> change theme. http://www.fishprofiles.com/theme.aspx

You must have cookies and javascript enabled for themes to work.

If you are experienced with CSS we are accepting theme submissions. The theme must only modify the CSS file and supply any needed images, no HTML changes will be allowed.

A new award will be created for people who have their themes accepted. Only submissions of appropriate quality will be selected.

I don't really get into site change discussions very often, congratulatory or critical, but I do have to say that I like having different themes, and so far I like them all. I like how this is going, great job Adam.

Yep, great deal. The angelfish theme with cichlid logo is pretty snazzy.

Just checked with Firefox - I see Adam's decided to abandon having them as alternate stylesheets. Typical that this happens just 24 hours after I discover the alternate stylesheets facility!

Those three styles were the ones available when I first alighted upon them as alternate stylesheets. I tested them to see if they made a difference to the appearance of my font choice, and the one that made my original font choice a little more legible was the dark blue Cichlid/Angelfish scheme. Only trouble was, that scheme made some other people's posts hard for me to read (swings and roundabouts again).

By the way Adam, if you pass this way, I'm sure you could draft a few people with some CSS experience to devise some more styles - let them have fun while you attend to more critical aspects of the Board!

EDIT - Bleh, that'll teach me to read the text instead of zooming past the pretty images ...Adam's already thrown open the offer! D'oh ...

Glad to see that my logo is still around!

Good job with the introduction of different themes Adam. If you can send me a copy of the CSS template that you are using, I will see what I can do with it...

Alternate stylesheets only work with Firefox and you have to change it every time you load a page. Kinda stupid.

My solution is persistant and works with both Firefox and Internet Exploder.

If you can send me a copy of the CSS template

The default template is available here: http://www.fishprofiles.com/Template/taupe/taupe.css

I like the latest background with the angels, looks cool. Think you can make one with the rift lake cichlids, I did notice the mbuna in the corner, nice

We have a new theme I created today which looks suspiciously like the software a lot of people use at work (including me ) - the "SOAP" theme

Also Premium member custom colours can now be disabled on the themes page for those who have trouble with reading due to the colours.

How about a sharks theme? As the background it could have all sorts of sharks espescially tigers and hammerheads, and it could have a logo like the danios one only with a school of sharks

Looking Great Master Adamses.

How about one with mozzies that have hatchets stuck in their backs.

Or other annoying entities with hatchets stuck in their back.

Why not rename the danios one "Classic"? Older members will remember this theme back when it started. Go to history on this site to see what i mean.

The angelfish are infinitely more classic than the danios.
