My turtle: Macsi, Red ear Slider age: at least 9 years. sex:F her story Macsi was our turle for the longest time. well n.e way going into the 04-05 school year Macsi became sick. in all the years of having her she never got sick. after a few weeks and not responding to med's i came home from school and we decided that we would bring her to the vet. but when me and my sis went down to her tank Macsi laid there, eyes closed, head down. at first we thought that she was sleeping, but when we picked her up she wouldn't move. sadness went though out the house. the oldest pet in the house was dead. we concluded that she became to weak to lift her head out of the water.(we lowered the tank water line in about 5 cm.) she had red streaks on her shell. we could never really find out why she died. we concluded that it was probably old age. On Friday my friend was going on vaction and his parents really didn't want it anymore so he gave me his turtle. we brought it home and since he is a NYC turtle (they grow small) we properly named him Macsi jr. he is a 4 year old male red ear slider. i felt it was time to share Macsi story thank you for reading. In memory of Macsi, Forever in mind.
