Once in a while things just don’t go as expected and such a day was today.

First I heard this morning that my wife’s step father died last night (he was a blessed 87 years old) and just a few hours later I am rushing home to go to the hospital because my daughter (5) broke her elbow while playing.

My son (5) and I just now came back from the hospital; she had been successfully operated and is in rather good spirits. She has currently 3 pins in her arm to stabilize the elbow, the doctor says they might be able to come out in a few weeks. She (and my wife) will spend the night there and hopefully come back home tomorrow.

Well, for everything bad there is something good, and I am waiting for it to happen.

Dude! that is one sucky 24hours in the Little Fish household.
Give your wife and daughter our love, and have a stiff drink!

A similar thing happenned to us, my grandmother died, and then my mother burnt me and we ended up in emergency for a few hours with morphine and dressing changes. Nothing like a bit of a distraction was not fun.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Oh Ingo, it seems to be contagious, today wasn't so good here either, but nowhere near as bad as yours.

I'm sorry about Katy's stepfather, but he did live a long life.

Take care of Sophie, and I'm glad she made it through surgery and is doing well, give her a great big hug gently though How did she do going down for surgery? Did they give her happy juice? (that's what they've given Sheila almost each and everytime before surgerygreat stuff really) How well did she come out of the anesthesia? Hopefully it was a good experience all things considering...

Take care and enjoy a night with just "the boys" They will be home tomorrow and then you can try and keep the twins from rough housing too much together and all this just in time for school to begin heidi

Sorry to hear Ingo.

I don't have any dolls to give - but I did break my ankle recently, so I can give your daughter my sympathy. Hope everything turns out well for your family.

All,

Thank you so much for your support.

Well, we cannot bring back the dead, but we can bring home the people from the hospital. Without any further interlude:

Sophie is home (finally)

*big hugs for the Little Fishie*

Sends shivers down my spine when I hear about kids hurting themselves like that. I hope she has a speedy and not too uncomfortable recovery.

Oh your poor little girl. She looks flat out miserable (who can blame her though And her fingers are all poofy did the doctor say when the swelling will begin to go down? I'm willing to bet she'll be up rough housing in a week, you really can't keep little ones down too long...big hugs to the family...heidi
