Hey Guy's,
Took a risk this year, instead of flowers I got my darling wife this big blue star for valentines day. Went down a treat, she loves it.

Unfortunately those guys generally don't live too long in captivity. They always appear to die from malnutrition, even if they are eating (indicating that we probably have no idea what they eat in the wild).

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

What a great idea, it's beautiful

I bet it lives longer than a bunch of flowers would.

Harlequin Shrimp food!

j/k! Though Cory is right about the Linckia, good luck with your new Echinoderm!

Thanks Guy's,
I'll give the shrimp food a try. Was told by the LFS prawns or pillies (sardines) and put the star on top of the food. I will look into it further.
However if is not going to survive it will be donated to Reef HQ in Townsville where i know it will survive.

LoL, sorry, my reference to Harlequin Shrimps was a joke. Harlequin Shrimps are a species of shrimp that eat only starfish.

The ones in our stores survive pretty long, I think they can survive off of Formula 1 / 2 cubes. At the store my bro works at, he hand feeds it silversides.

I hand feed some pillie slices last night which he seemed to eat.

Just read that. Hand feed the starfish, not the shark.

so when you feed a starfish, what do you do? pick it up and stick food underneath? i mean they can't exactly see what they're eating.... darn echinoderms... maybe if you cut it into three pieces.. you could have three more starfish? ok.. i joke i joke!

At the moment i hand feed the littlebugger. I have the food sitting on my hand and put himontop of it. Generally he stays there and eats it. If he runs away I just try again later.
Hang on! Not my starfish. Why am I sitting there feeding it? What a sucker I am. lol
