One of the guys who works in my building has a tank of goldfish and I have seen them gasping for air on a few occasions but they are still alive and well. Most recently he gave them a clean and some new tank mates only to be all looking like they were dying. I ask what happened and he sheepishly replied that he accidentally squeezed a cloth that contained detergent into the tank. Every fish was on its side and looking half dead. On my suggestion we did a massive water change and waited. All day they looked the same. Not moving, on their sides, a bit of gasping – it was not a pretty sight. We were sure that death would await us the next morning. But no, every fish was bright eyed and bushy tailed the next morning. Not one death. I couldn’t believe it. It got me to thinking that I’m sure there are other amazing stories of survival out there. Last edited by fishymama at 20-Jul-2005 21:35 |
