I am having the worst luck with my hair so i am going to rant.

Two months ago I decided that I didn't like being blonde so I would go a really nice dark brown.

I did it, and everyone said it was too dark and didn't suit me.

So I thought I will make it a bit lighter. I got a bleach and it came out Bright red.

I lived with that for 2 weeks, but after seeing some photos of myself out in the sun, I decided I would bleach it some more so that it isn't so red.

Well four or is it five bleaches and may hair is now completely patchy in colour and it is white and orange and really brassie. IT LOOKS DREADFUL!!!!!!!

Not natural and glossy as the packet says. And I am going away on Sunday to the coast for 3 nights!! I have no more money to spend on my hair. WHERE IS MY BEANIE!!!!

Oh and my partner is trying to say all the right things to make me feel better. BUT HE COULDN'T SAY ANYTHING WORSE!! I just walk away and he is says " HONEY, really it isn't that bad, just the back it is a different colour to the front"

I am never dying my hair again!!!!!

joannecl,

Yeah, we guys can never say the right thing, it is just not in our system

As for the hair, I would believe that the best way to fix it is to darken it yet again, like dark brown or even black.

But I can imagine the stress on the hair with all that coloring and bleaching going on in such a short period.

Ingo

EDIT: Can you post a picture of it so we can judge better if it needs any help in the first place?

I think it looks ok by those photos. Looks like strawberry blonde with streaks. Love your pics on your fishys.

honestly - its not that bad.

I've seen (and had worse). With all those bleachings going on, I'm actually stunned you still have hair. My hair took a beating when I was younger with all the bleachings I had to do (at one point my hair went green), so with all that treatment, your hair isn't going to be all glossy and smooth.

I see you have a few options.

1. Leave it alone and let it grow out, then get it cut off (I hear the two tone look is good these days - kidding)

2. Go to the hair dresser, and get it cut really short, and maybe get them to dye it some kind of ash blonde or something.

3. Wear a beanie for the next few months

4. Color it yourself a darker color.

I think your best option is a darker color at this point, and letting it grow out naturally.

My hair still falls out in large quantities because of the amount of coloring I did to it. I was a natural blonde, but its more of a dark blonde/light brown now...

joannecl,

That is not that bad at all, I actually like it.

You should keep it that way and convince yourself that you worked hard and purposely achieved that style.

Really, it is nice.

Sorry you're not happy! that kinda sucks.

But it does grow...that's what I keep telling myself each time I cut my hair and it comes out bad .

I've never dyed my hair...okay once I tried to peroxide it for red, and once lemon juice and salt...neither really worked as my hair is much to dark to do anything with *shakes fish @too dark hair and it's evil half flipcurl*.

Coworker of mine insists (after discussing her numerous changes in hair cuts) that hair is for having fun with.
oh...and there's nothing wrong with dark hair (repeats to herself until she believes it). You just have to be careful about eyebrows and such .

Me...I pretty much ignore my hair unless it's being particularly annoying and then I just stick it in piggy tails or throw a clip in and continue to ignore it *shrug* I havent the energy, talent or desire to spend time on it ....then again that's probably why I'm still single .

That looks good actually, I wish my hair had something (i'm not happy with mine either just refuse to do anything to it)

If you think it's too brassy run to Sally's beauty care and get some of the "Purple Shampoo", just ask for it by that name they will know what you mean, and wash your hair with it, and it will remove the brassiness (i don't see "brassiness", but pictures can be deceiving)

Then get some good conditioner, your hair needs it with the chemical treatments you've done I like Pantene get for color treated hair, or extremely dry hair, something like that, and add a few drops of melafix to it, shake it up and use it as your conditioner...

It really isn't a bad, look, and let's face it us blonds do get tired of our natural coloring just like everyone else but I learned early on when I tried to dye mine years ago to a strawberry blonde and ended up a bright copper penny that dying a blonde's hair requires a professional, and have decided my natural color is better than the nightmares it can become

Yeah melafix is great in your conditioner, especially if you've got lots of chlorine in your tap water ] ...also can be mixed with various things for a mask
*shrug* I use Vo5...funny it's the cheapest hair treatments out there and I've always been happy with it . My hair is shiny and love the feel of it I couldnt ask for more...oh and it doesnt smell like some do *gag*

I like it, but taking into account the fluro light, i can understand, that'd be BRIGHT.

If you are truly unhappy, go to a specialist hair dyer As someone who tried to go red/black and ended up BOYSENBERRY, I sympathise!! Nothing worse than hating your hair.

But in all honesty, it doesn't look too bad.

Looks fine to me,really I thought from your description you would look really streaky and ridiculous but you Don't at all. its just probably not what you wanted!

it is a total pain when you hate your hair after having it "done" though. I cut my fringe the other day, out of total desperation of not being able to see, and now I look about 12......... but hey I can see.

honestly no one thinks you look bad. I think it looks good actually so there!

*nods sagely*

I have posted before about my hair traumas.

My commiserations to anyone who doesn't like their hair, hope it is only a transitional phase & you bond with a new style very soon.

Well I went to the hair dresser and got it fixed, and I was going to post that day....but....

I used to come to this site some years back, and there was a certain someone that I used to chat with. Somedays he would upset me, with his responses to other people, as I found that he could be quite offensive/rude/abrupt. He delivered his responses in a harsh manner and I had a few arguments with him in regards to that.

But I also had enormous respect for him as he was one of the most intelligent persons in fishkeeping that I have ever had the chance to speak/write to. And, when my angel died of old age I sent a private message to him immediately for his advice in regards to the surviving angel.

Time and time again he came to this site, time and time again he would help people with the same problems of an over-crowded tank, poor water quality etc etc. I guess because he loved fish so much. And time and time again, he would get some abuse!!

So I tried to find him, and I still remember his name, the only name I remembered. Gary Rolands. I looked for him everywhere, and couldn't find him, so I thought maybe he got sick of helping people again and again, or perhaps he got sick of the abuse. Unfortunately, I found out the worst, he had passed on, and I read all the post from others that he come in contact with, and touched in some way.

So I had a huge reality check on whats important and what is not. RIP GARY!! I hope that where ever you are, that it is 1000 times more wonderful than you had ever expected!!!!
