As most people have said though, if it's a healed, older piercing it won't close right away. It will shrink quite a lot in the first week or so, but it may be a while before it is completely healed over. Of course, everybody is different in this! If you are concerned with infection. But if it was done a while ago it is unlikely it will become infected while closing over/healing. Wouldn't that be more likely for infection to happen close to time of piercing if the body doesn't like the piercing/me "aaawww, ahhhh eeesth" (all the best - said around a new piercing) ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |

I don't think you'd have to worry about anything getting stuck in the piercing hole, things just don't tend to travel into it when you have the barbell out. ![]() ![]() I think it will probably take a while to fully close... Instead of salt (because salt gargles make me gag) you can use mouthwash watered down to about 1/4 strength to keep the piercing clean. I use it every day still even after about 5 years with my tongue pierced. Why are you getting rid of your piercing? I think I would have a hard time adjusting to life without it now. ![]() |
