I'm returning for a short visit to give those who wish to know, an update.

Stormy has been in the hospital and is recovering at home. She gets to go back again after her recovery, this time for a tonsilectomy, as she contracted yet another case of tonsilitis while visiting Kitty over Thanksgiving weekend. *shakes fisted paw at nasty winter weather* However, we still had fun... more Shedd aquarium visitage, touristy-ness, and shopping goodness. She now knows why we all wear scarves here, though (especially downtown)!

Heidi called me today... apparently she went into the hospital early this morning due to yet another gall bladder attack. This time they'll be removing the problem for good (buh-bye gall bladder!)

I'm sure you've seen lisa/dallas's post (recovery room) about her back and HER impending hospital visit.

Of course, this leads me to dig my claws in and hope like hell that I don't land in the hospital, too. Dangit, that's the LAST thing I need.

In any case, besides random medical emergencies, things are fine. In true New Year's fashion, both Heidi and I raised our glasses... many times over. Heidi managed to give herself a hangover, I managed to escape that, thankfully.

In fishy news, Heidi has been playing good samaritan and rescued half a dozen dwarf gouramis from a Walmart whose heating element was on the fritz. At last count, three had survived. Poor things were freezing to death. She's returned her angels to the LFS, as they were terrorizing the rest of her fish. She lost at least one cory to them... poor lil cory.

I've gotten hold of cory rabauti, though very few of them made it... of six, two remain. No ideas why the other four died... none of the other fish in the tank were effected. And there were no visible signs of disease on the deceased cories. In another tank, I've introduced a small school of pygmy cories. Current betta count is 13 males, 8 females. One female (the eldest) is on her last fins, however. I didn't expect her to make the new year, but she's still hanging in there. There's another re-aquascaping in the near future for my 20 gallon... working on a layout now. Need to accomodate the newly purchased anubias coffeefolia.

I'm talking too much... I'll wrap this up.

I know Heidi and I are signed onto messengers almost everyday (she will be again when she's recovering, I'm sure), Stormy has been away a lot recently as she can't sit comfortably for long periods of time after her operation. I can't speak for Stormy and Heidi, but I can tell you that I'm always open to chatting... I still have contact info in my profile if anyone cares to talk.

For those wondering about our absence, suffice it to say that we've grown away from FP and it is no longer our internet "home." This post is about keeping in contact and updating those who wish to be updated. That's all.

Meows, hugs and best wishes in the New Year.
