my nickname is Kat many reasons first, my name is Katherine, for short they call me Katie, or Kate and eventually Kat evolved its also because my only defence are my claws they work well but yea, thats pretymuch the history

Babelfish from Douglas Adams triollogy of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Unlike the babelfish however I do not speak other languages very well if at all. Picked it cause I noticed a few others had hitchhikers quotes as their sigs and thought fish worked well on a fish site ....and cause I couldnt figure anything else out that would be cool. I could have gone with my real name too ...but didnt ....obviously .

fishymama because when I first had my tank I would go up my newly acquired fishes and after my hellos, hows your day been, I would ask 'who's ya mama?'. This answer being me! So when I stumbled upon FP it was an easy choice! :%)

Tiga- Because when I was little, the family would ask me my name, and I would shout, "Monica TIGA! YAY!!!" and then EVERYONE had to clap for me.

Mo- Because those are My initials.

Butterfly- Because Justin always called me his Beautiful Butterfly

MoJo- My friends who watch too many cartoons coined this one for me

Red- Because I'm often wearing red, or my hair is red

Dragon- Because nearly everything I own is covered in Dragons

Moni- Because the Mexican Cooks couldn't say Mo

Sweety Mo- Because some friends found it extremely ironic

MoMo- Coworkers thought they were being cute

Mariposa- Spanish speaking co workers called me this because of a fake tattoo I sported at work once or twice

And I think that's all the big ones. There are a few more, but these will do ^_^

My Mum names me Guddi when I was born. Its means a doll in Hindi which is my mother tongue. She called me that because she thought I was going to grow up to be mischevious like a famouse character called Guddi in a movie.

Luckily for me, I was more tomboyish so they modified my name to Guddu, which is more like a Boy Doll, so like Ken in Barbie and Ken

Eversince, I have been called various versions:

Gudda
Gudda Gundi (Gundi means rascal)
Gudds
Gudds Carrier (which is a modified version of Goods Carrier or large trucks, tho I have never been large )

And a few others...

Perky, no reason really! Just nickname have had for while, always stuck

My mates is best, Mad Mab Mean Machine Bull Head! Just Mab for short though, he also got nicknames Trout, Mabobi, Mabbie, Mabus, Mib, Fatty, Machine, Gunz and few more!

He great laugh but god, it is confusing when people use different names for same thing!

To me it's pretty straightforward, but some people look at it and see "now herman", and others see "now her man", so it can't hurt to clarify

i kinda had a hunch about your name nowhereman6... meaning i kinda knew where it came from... mine.. well its my name and my birth year.... plain and simple

NowherMan6 = short form for "Nowhere Man" from the album Rubber Soul which came out in 1965. Many many years ago I tried entering NowhereMan65 as an AOL name and it was taken, so I used the abbreviated short form, and what can I say, it stuck

*Bram - as in bram stoker (dracula) same surname
*Etcha Sketch - At work this one, basically I draw things on the CAD.
*Butcher - my dad owns the local Butchers
*Duke lovely - apparently my   name (first pet's name and mothers maden name)
