This is nothing new... It has been known for a while that many ocean-going Perciforms and sharks are warm-blooded.

I'm pretty sure this phenomena is restricted primarily to mackerel sharks and thunnus (and not all species, either). I've heard that xiphias exhibit this trait too, but not billfish, though I'm not sure on either accounts.

I've read several places that Swordfish and their relatives are warm-blooded, and I've even read from one source that Barracudas were as well.

Barracudas are "psuedo" warm blooded? I had no idea.
