HMMM... Run with the elephants, well, its really not advised. It seems, if a tiger sees you, you can still survive, but if an elephant thinks ur threatening it, ur pretty much dead.

I saw some wild elephants in Kerala less than 30 feet from me. A couple of babies and mommies

I want to take my camera to Peru. Eight thousand species of butterfly and of course all those fish, including my beloved Panda Corys live there. Just me, the camera, a truckload of film and some tanks to put the fish in while I photograph them. Apart from the financial logistics involved in simply getting such an expedition off the ground, the developing costs for all the film I'd use on such an expedition would probably run into several thousand pounds ... then there's the mammoth task of cataloguing the prints afterwards

Let's see, average two 24-exposure rolls of film a day for six months ... that's 360 rolls of film at around £3 a shot developing ... wow.

Then of course I'd probably take a digital camera as well if I could afford that kind of expedition ... and fill an 80 gig hard drive on a laptop with the output

Be a wife and mother.

Clowny, I am filled with admiration for you getting your dance classes going. Good for you! Sounds like some others are benefiting from your 'get up and go attitude' too. Good karma to you!

LOL I know it sounds stupid but for some reason I just have visions of doing just that :%)

I'm obviously wrong in thinking that India hasn't got many wild elephants left? I'm glad Clownygirl and that they're breeding too, very nice

Let me start with what prompted this question. I have always wanted to learn how to swing dance, and its difficult to find somebody to teach you a western form of dancing in India, because we are not a western country.

My other hurdle, hubby has two left feet and a travelling job, so I cant quite learn with him.

But now, I have found myself a tutor, a colleague at work, and we are a class of 5 students, excluding the tutor and we practice everyday (or at least try to)

This is the one thing that I always wanted to do, and it makes me very happy. It makes me feel good about myself.

I want to know 'What's the one thing that you always wanted to do?' :%)

Be happy and enjoy life with someone that I love, and loves me back the same...nothing can beat the feeling of being loved.
Well said DRO

I'm lucky enough to have that but I'm greedy and I still want to run with the elephants

They are all riding in rope halters (the ones they use in Parelli natural horsemanship/horse whispering). The knots in the halter hit pressure points if it is pulled, but most of those horses would be trained to neck rein and be so sensitive you would hardly need it. They are actually pretty comfy, they just sort of hang.
Its easier than a bridle because they do a lot of hillwork where the rider has to get off, run the lead between the horses legs, and hold onto its tail to get up the hill more easily. It is a big hassle to have to keep swapping headgear.

The saddle looks like a specialised endurance saddle. Wide deep seat, and a minidisc-sized hole in the pommel for holding. free off the shoulders for easier movement, and D rings all over

I gotta say, part of the appeal of doing it is all the gear!

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Diving Lake Tanganyika would be pretty cool.

But for something I really, really want that will change my life (for the worse) if I don't get it - getting into law school when I apply is way way up on the list.
