A couple of things have made me smile today...

First thanks Keith and those others who are so supportive with another post, where I was so down yesterday:#(

Next was being able to spend a bit of time with a buddy before he left town

And making a friends son embarrassed even though he is 20

IT RAINED

And going out today and popping my pony over a few log jumps bareback while planning out a cross country course with a friend

Nothing better than a good ride and a challenging project

*Note to self - Please remember to jump UPHILL not DOWNHILL when you are without your trusty stirrups. Downhill is ouchy*

Being at my aquarium society BBQ and watching the Pres.'s 2 year old WET (from swimming) daughter rolling in the dirt. Knowing I didn't have to clean her up!!!!

Today it was the cats that made me smile the most. I got my Sphynx, Arra Belle, a pretty pink collar and bell, so now both cats have them. Then watched her walk around like an idiot for a few minutes while she got used to it. Then her and Snugglepuss ran around the house playing for hours. That is HYSTERICAL to watch! LOL!

I called in sick to work and went to the last day of the Colorado State Firefighters Convention that is held every year. Today was the last day and also the day when they have the competitions. I got to see my Dad and Brother compete and their Dept. team did really well and took first place overall! I also got to see a LOT of firefighters that I grew up seeing every year at the convention that I hadnt seen since I am not a firefighter anymore and dont go to the convention or compete. It was a good time and Im glad that I went.

There were some times that I didnt smile too though....its amazing how you realize that you miss something till you arent doing it anymore

Thanks! He had me SERIOUSLY worried at first. It is very scarey seeing someone come out of a bypass surgery, I can tell you that right now. He had some complications during surgery too, so he lost a lot of blood, and had already had transfusions, but he was still so pale that he looked like he was laid out for viewing. That scared the hell out of me! Everything is so hectic right now because I have SO much to take care of between him, me, the pets, work, and the house that I feel like no matter what I do I am taking two steps back for every step I take forward. I just wish I had a really good friend who lived close who could check in on him when I am not here (when he comes home from the hospital that is), and to take over care of the aquariums for a couple of months. The aquariums are starting to look shabby already to me, and this whole process has barely just begun! *sighs*

Things will get better I promise...and I've seen someone coming out of surgery, never pretty no matter what, it's the heart surgery that always looks so flipping bad...My Nanny had it a couple of times

Things will get better, wish i was there to help...

What has made me smile today?

Chatting with someone in chat
Kitten getting home.
And a phonecall this morning

Visiting with a friend online

and getting the official information on what all I need to do before signing my contract for the upcoming school year with HISD ***though the thought of the TB test is not pleasant And to think all I have to do is get the TB test results, and find my social security card (the only thing that isn't in my purse) make an appointment to see Raven and I'll be set

It's only 10.30am, so not much has happened yet. But the following things have made me smile:

Waking up, looking at the time and seeing 9.20am

Seeing my cat Mia - she had been very quiet all morning while I was sleeping, and as soon as she heard my bedroom door open she meowed excitedly and bounded out from her cosy spot behind the betta tanks.

Knowing that this afternoon I am going down to see my parents and grandmother, enjoying mum's home cooking and watching the football tonight with my dad. Even though they only live an hour away, I haven't seen them for well over a month because I've been busy with work and mum's been busy with uni. It'll also be the first time they've seen me without my sling and bandages from my accident - hopefully that'll make them smile too.
