It depends on what you were doing before the test as well. For example, i got my BP done after my asthma peak flow, and the peak flow test raised my bp. If you are concerned, you should get an appointment with your GP or practice nurse to discuss it. Without getting into too much detail, systolic blood pressure is the measurement of the force exerted on the walls of your arteries as your heart is contracting. Diastolic pressure, is therefore the measurement of the force exerted while your heart is relaxing. Optimal BP is <120/80. ![]() |
