I'm getting a 50 gal sometime.....but it looks like it won't be for AWHILE.....sigh. It's getting to the point where I think about it everyday, and I'm sooooo excited, but the waiting is getting to me. Even riding my horse won't get it off my mind, which normally works! Any advice? I'm going crazy over this tank!!:#(

Start saving your money, and clearing the space you are going to need for it...if that doesn't help, then start with the planning, I don't know how much paper I went through printing off fishprofiles of what I wanted, dreaming of how many of what I wanted, drooling at the lfses in the area and taking notes on what they have and could/would get, then cross examining what could go with what, and what was a must have, versus a would want to have...

No, it won't get your mind off of it, but it helps you to get readyand do something start getting the "little things" now...this week get the heater, next week, a bag of gravel or whatever substrate, the next week some driftwood...it helps to build up the excitement and makes things so much easier and cheaper at the time of you actually getting the tank, and then once you have the "little things" well heck you've just gotta get the tank, no butts about it

it is really sad to admit this but I am as excited and constantly thinking about buying my new hamsters(pair of dwarf hamsters!)

I have to wait till works finishes and I have sold all my C**p onE bay. I have looked at six different cages, three different types of hamster and don't even get me started on names and how to tame them!! i have already bought them toys and treats!

so i completely understand, honestly i don't care about anything else!!

it is good fun wanting stuff though I do enjoy it. day dream day dream!

i don't need to tell you to tell us all about your plans do i??? he he he

GFG

My parents are doing the whole "It's not healthy" thing that I want this so much, but they just don't get it!
This is my stocking list:
2 angels
2 pearl gouramis
10 diamond tetras
3 yo-yo loaches (if I can get them)
1 BN
Sounds nice, Huh? I'm so excited!!! I'm planing on getting a large piece of driftwood and putting at an angle from the back right corner to the middle. I'll then plant the corner from which the driftwood starts heavily, and thin it out slowly to the other end. Broad leaved plants are a must, with frilly plants in the back (like milfoil). Also, alot of anubias and java moss will be used in the foreground.
I should draw out the aquascape, maybe that'll kepp me going a little further. It's looking like august may be the month, but since my parents won't let me work or use the 200+ dollars I have in my savings, I'll have to get it when they want to....]:|
Getting my 5gal betta tank helped to keep me going, but after getting plants today, my thoughts soon drifted back to the 50....

Why dont you just pretend you have one

Friend of mine as a child had an imaginary pet lion for 18months because the toy one she saw in the shop was too expensive. Her mum got worried after 18 months of imaginary lion so caved and bought my friend the toy one.

btw Albert the Lion made an appearance at Laura's recent wedding during the bride's dad's speech... very funny, he is a bit worse for wear these days.

I think this is worse than christmas for me....
The parents seem to be caving in more and more, and august looks like it will definetly be the month
I went to my LFS the other day, and they said they can order the loaches for me (I'm thinking of Zebra's instead...the yo-yo's are nippy I guess)!!
*jumps around, all excited*
