I'm supposed to be having a scan of my tummy done cos I'm having some problems and have an "area of concern." So, fine, but scan is going to take 6-8 weeks at least, cos I'm not a priority. OK, but in 5 weeks, I'm moving out of area. OMG!! What a performance! It's taken 6 months to get the docs to agree that they need to have a better look, and now i'm going to lose my appt and have to go home, reregister with doctors, wait 6-8 MONTHS cos brighton hospitals are lame, and you can only get a scan if you are literally dying. That's not an exageration, more than one person has died on a trolley outside the scanner after waiting 8 months to have their cancer scanned, and finally dying of it before they got there!! It's so frustrating really. I've been wanting a scan and another test for a couple of months now, but, fair enough, docs have to try and medicate first, and the area of concern has only passed their concerning threshold a few weeks ago. Not that it's anything nasty, everyone's sure it isnt, it's just an area of pain and tenderness that needs to be looked at. anwyay - just a bit of a rant. I just want it all fixed. But, i suppose, there's no way i could pay for a scan, so I should just be thankful. It's just a bit ![]() ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. The hossie can only post my apt letter to the address I'm registered with the doctor who referred me. Trouble is, I wont be living there to receive the appointment letter, and the uni has a policy of not forwarding mail. The hossie can't forward the letter to me in brighton, cos that's a different health authority and a different doctor cos I wont be registered with the docs who originally referred me, I'm not allowed to stay registered with the uni doc, because I will be living out of area. Basically, there's very little they can do unless I can get the scan before I move out, which is unlikely because there's no grounds for me to get priority. Even if I go back up here for the scan, which is what i want because Brighton hossie is DISGUSTING, they can't send the results back to my doc, because they have no contact, being it's out of area. edit - and the uni doc can't just forward the referral to my home doc, because the home doc will not refer me for a scan unless he has had a go with the medicines first. And it'll take about 6 weeks for my notes to make it from uni to home Last edited by tiny_clanger at 10-Aug-2005 18:08 ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium.
